I agree with Gardening4ever, this is a great, practical and funny book, especially for a Southern gardener. Her newer book, Earthly Delights: Practical thoughts for passionate gardeners is equally good (2009). She shares tips like burying kitchen scraps directly in the garden and let nature take its course turning it into compost. I have never read a book twice, back-to-back, but that is exactly what I did with both of Margot Rochester's books.
Ms. Rochester is one of the most entertaining gardening authors I have ever read. The book is told from her gardening experience, techniques & perspective. I found myself laughing outloud many times. This book may not be for everyone, but it spoke to my heart, because I garden in the same fashion as Ms. Rochester. I have already read it three times in 6 months.
