The book gives a good idea of the pathway to follow in the production of the carotenoid colors Try some of his suggested experiments and keep track of the results. It does not have a sewn binding, and started to come apart on the second reading--a negative trait for an expensive book. irisMA
This book was basically written for those who understand genetic and scientific terms. In other words - - it is not easy reading. The majority of drawings and photographs are in color.
I found this book both interesting and hard to understand at times. The basis of this book is his hypothesis on understanding and manipulating the carotenoid pathway. (Not only the carotenoid colors, but all colors.)
He also address recessive genes, gene jumping, the plicata pattern, glaciatas, genetic engineering and much much more. It really gives one a lot to think about.
