An Illustrated Encyclopedia of Clematis is a Bookworm 20 book.
This new volume, written by distinguished clematis experts and backed by the authority of the British Clematis Society, is the first picture encyclopedia on the genus to encompass the more than 800 garden-worthy species and hybrids.
It is divided into two sections: the first is devoted to the care and cultivation of clematis (including a chapter devoted to growing clematis in North America), while the second provides an A-Z directory of more than 550 plants, from the acclaimed large-flowered forms to the less-familiar shrubby, subshrubby, and herbaceous forms that are beginning to be available. The plant descriptions include information on synonyms, origin, plant habit and height, flowers, pruning group, flowering period, cultural requirements, recommended uses in the garden, and USDA hardiness zones, with more than 650 magnificent color photos.

This is one of those books that you just get lost in....gorgeous photos, terrific information, well-written....just a wonderful book for anyone that is interested in Clematis! I have been growing them for years and still found many, many I had never seen, or heard of. Covers the often misunderstood pruning groups very well, and also includes many non-vine, shrub type Clematis which make great garden plants......Wonderful reference!
This book is great. Easy to read and understand. Wonderful pictures, and detailed descriptions of many, many clematis species and varieties. It also gives a list of various places to purchase clematis. I love it.
I love this book. It has all the information you need to know about clematis. I like learning about the origin of a plant and how it got its name. This book tells the origin on all the plants and lots of them how they where named. Also, it has the pruning groups listed. Wonderful photos and infomation. Couldn't ask for more.
