Yes, that E. Annie Proulx. The one who wrote Brokeback Mountain and The Shipping News. Annie Proulx has also written books and articles on food and gardening. The Fine Art of Salad Gardening describes the growing of a multitude of greens,vegetables and herbs and suggests ways to combine and use them in luscious salads. The book contains growing instructions, recipes and history of the many ingredients she discusses. Delicate line drawings are used for illustration purposes. Ms. Proulx dedicates the book to her father who "taught me the art of the salad bowl."
Unfortunately the book is out of print. It can be found through used book sources, however. .
