On Dec 5, 2006, tabasco wrote: Another engaging book of garden related essays by Allen Lacy. Many of these essays are new and others were originally published in his columns in 'Horticulture', 'The Wall Street Journal; and even the 'Journal of Philanthropy' publication.
All of them are engaging to the gardener's psyche, but as he says, not meant for practical garden purposes, More like 'Chicken Soup' for the Gardener, Lacy shares intimate stories about his gardening friends, his wife (who actually did most of the tending of the Lacy garden, I think), his mother, and other garden mentors. He also includes short pieces on some of his favorite and least favorite flowers.
Reading this book is like having a coffee klatch with your best gardening friend. You will gather lots of good information on how to garden well and have fun doing it.
