Garden Workshop contains rather prosaic, uninspired projects for the DIY gardener that includes:
Popsicle stick-style flat plant stakes.
Compost bins
Galvanized steel planter (looks like a wash bucket)
Trompe l'oeil "arbor" (Ungainly, matter-of-factly styled)
Woven Archway
Oak stripe fencing (an otherwise detail-less wall of basket woven 7" wide wood strips)
Sunken 14-foot trampoline
Oak picnic table and benches (think ugly)
Teen's tree house
Projects sometimes require substantial costs that the book's text minimizes. Many projects are also deceptively labor intensive. The aesthetic reward is generally meager for such investments.
The instructions are insufficient and confusing even for professional designers and artists such as me who are familiar with the techniques envolved.
For far greater visual impact, and creative inspiration I recommend instead, the author's previous book titled, Garden Transformations.
