I ran across this book when I was just starting to garden and it proved invaluable in suggesting plants that got me off and running without wasting time on hard-to-grow varieties or those demanding finicky care.
Probably better for novices rather than experienced gardeners. It is probably out of print now, but worth looking for in used book stores.
