Recommended to me as a beginning gardener in Wisconsin by an avid gardener here. I loved it. It is really a story or a journey rather than a how-to book, but great ideas and advice are woven throughout. The best part; it is very motivating and encouraging. Her advice comes from lessons learned, lessons that are based in experience and told as stories. A great read and a huge help for beginners in the Midwest.
