The full title of this book is The Natural Approach to Designing, Planting and Maintaining a Northern Temperate Garden. Which just about says it all! The book begins with a section on bioplanning for the future; the bulk of the book includes information on perennials, biennials and bulbs divided by organic care, ecofunction, and design for each; and concludes with an informative and useful section on organic garden controls. It is geared towards a zone 4 or 5 garden. Along with the books I have listed previously on choosing perennials (Perennial Garden - Patrick Lima) and pruning (Well Tended Perennial Garden - Tracy Disabato-Aust), this book rounds out my library of most used and loved gardening books, with organic care of perennials.
