although this book is paper back, it is very well made with all the colorful photos - supportive of each of alphabetize herb and spice sections of the book. this book is a treasure all it's own due to the very authoritative knowledge of the author Ian Hemphill who describes wide range of known, rare global herbs and spices used these days in numerous types of kitchen.
