Great beginners book for establishing a pond in the midwest. The author covers all the basics of designing a pond and stocking it with fish and plants. I am in Illinois and have had a Koi pond for over 6 years. I purchased this book because I never really stocked it with plants, just fish. I do wish it would have gone into more depth about actually "planting" the plants in the water and over wintering them, not just descriptions about them.

All in all a very good book for beginners. Lot's of good tips.
