The author methodically and patiently goes vegetable by vegetable ( and herb by herb, and fruit by fruit), to tell the reader what exactly to expect that plant to do in Ohio's climate and soils. Each plant entry has some background information, when to plant, where to plant, how to plant, care and maintenance, and additional information. He even tells the reader what to expect when each vegetable is grown in a partial shade or less than ideal soil situation (something I've found very few gardening books are willing to discuss). Borrowed this book from the library, but will definitely be purchasing it to add to my own collection. |
