A nice basic introduction to garden planning. The color plates are lovely.
Different types of gardens are discussed and planning advice presented in a readable way.
A combination of plants and shrubs are photographed together so that the reader can see how they look in a landscape setting. I find that is is one of the nicest features of the book, as actual images are much better than an artist's rendition of a supposed scene.
