A great book on apple growing that will really make you think about your approach. Author makes a distinction between allopathic vs holistic gardening. In the allopathic version, one reaches for a "more natural" pesticide; in the holistic approach, one tries to understand the source of underlying balance and correct it. Book is oriented more to market grower, but still very, very useful for home orchard.
