CAN'T Get enough of this book! I borrowed it from one of the libraries, and found the combos, plants, and vast quantity of info indespensable! Luv this book, will be buying when I find it near here.
My friend "loaned" me this book almost 8 months ago and I cannot part with it. First, I need to explain that I was a gardener that was all about flowers and shrubs and trees and did not think about foliage. My master gardener friend loaned this to me and told me that this book would help make my garden more cohesive. She was right!
The author not only describes individual plants, their zones and all important details but explains how to work each plant into other plant colors and textures. She doesn't make "recommendations" of groupings of plants but teaches you how to think about plant textures and colors and how to make them work in your own landscape. Sure, there are a lot of wonderful pictures and suggestions and alternative suggestions to create great combinations but more importantly she gives you the tools to create your own combinations for your zone and conditions.
This is a book that I have read and re-read multiple times and still feel that I learn something from it. I think it's time I buy my own copy and return my friends' copy as I cannot garden without it! Wonderful Book!!!!!
