In their talks with midwestern gardeners, Staw and Swander set out to meet common gardener folk across the midwest. They met characters along the way: from the little old lady way out in the boonies who surprisingly held a masters in science in organic chemistry (earned in 1928), to several urban gardeners who gave all they grew away. In between are marvelous stories full of great tips: you probably better go out and get this wonderful book!
