This book is solely responsible for sparking my newfound interest in herb gardening. Touches on every topic necessary to get a novice started - everything from breaking ground to herb breads. Colorful, and very visually appealing, this book is peppered with helpful quick- reference- type boxes throughout the first half of the book: 'Herbs to Sow Where They'll Grow', 'Teas to Try', 'Light Preferences', and many more. Second half of the book is an herb directory covering approximately 50 differnt herbs with specifics on their culture. (*Note* Two of the herbs listed, borage and angelica, are by some other sources considered to be unsuitable for human consumption.)
Beautiful soft cover book and full of info. Something for the experienced herb gardener or the novice as well. Great info on what to grow where and what bugs it deters and attracts as well. I am so happy I bought this book. You could do a lecture with handouts from this book quite easily. A must for the herb gardener. Beverly
