this book has a lot of information but there is no use buying it, brugs get a lot of disease's and virus problems. This book is not worth the money, id rather use the money and buy something worth it. My opinion though.
I second everything that has been said thus far and would like to add I am was amazed at how thorough and concise it was. The author's love of these plants really echoes in the pages.
However, I was a bit dispointed. I feel more text could have been written on the care and propagation of these plants. I'm sure there is a wealth of experience I've missed out on, since it wasn't included.
My book is a nice hard bound copy and does have very nice pictures in it. The quality of the book is very good. It is informative with quite a bit of information beyond growing healthy plants, (brugs and dats). I would recommend this book for anyone who really likes to read. I didn't really feel comfortable with this book myself, but it could be just what someone else needs.
Excellent read with a wonderful history of Brugmansia & Datura. Beautiful pictures & easy to follow steps with very informative classification charts. A "must have" addition for the Brug & Datura grower.
This book, written in English and specifically for North American Brugmansis and Datura growers and hybridizers, is the one I refer to frequently for information on care and cultivation, over-wintering, propagation and breeding. The book also covers pruning, including how to train your Brugmansia into standards. It is beautifully illustrated in full color, with over 110 color photographs.
There is a large section with the latest information on pests and diseases, and their controls.
Also, the most up-to-date information on B. vulcanicola.
My (new) copy was obtained from Amazon for about $12.
When I had a question about the book, Dr. Georg Preissel was quick to respond to my inquiry.
When I first started growing brugmansia this book was a life saver. It helped me to classify what each kind was.Full of wonderful information and the pictures are breath taking.
