A super reference for the person who really wants to learn about serious rose growing. There are so many books out there that are zone-specific and this book handles the zonal differences with ease.

If I could hit a button that said "double possitive" I would on this book. I own an older addition and read the book cover to cover as well as his follow on book. Extremely practical knowledge and gets a novice gardener excited and confident over growing gorgeous roses. Author does a great job explaining why he is passionate about roses and how this whole change in his life came about. I refer back to this book more than any other gardening book I have.

When I started to read this book, I was a bit skeptical that I could learn much from this book, as I already felt I knew how to care for roses, but read anyway.
I am glad I did, as I learned a few things that made reading this book, worth re-reading a lot of information, that I already knew.
The tips on epsom, alfalfa pellets, and homemade preservative, I'll keep with me forever. The zonal differences chapter was also quite helpful and gave me a great memorable date(February 15th), for general Spring purning in my zone.
It is a quick, easy read, and I'm grateful to have learned some new tips.
