I picked up this book while on a trip to England. It has been especially useful to me in designing my current garden. Some of the subjects covered include: Cottage, Kitchen, Family, Water, Formal, Coastal, Wildlife, Woodland, Front, Roof Polant Enthusiasts', Enclosed, and Japanese-style gardens. It even covers Gardens for Entertaining and Gardens for the Disabled. There are numerous garden designs presented which include complete plant lists and design variations.
The Garden Features Chapter covers: Pools, Streams, Water Features, Rock Gardens, Summerhouses, Patios & Paving, Steps & Slopes, Walls & Fences, Trellises & Screens, Beds & Borders, Herb Gardens, Pots & Containers.
This book is very thorough, but may be somewhat overwhelming to complete beginners (?).
Beautiful ideas for garden styles, planting schemes, garden features.
Contains many water color drawings of garden designs that give a realistic visual of how a particular design might look. Several variations per design give you options for applying a general design to your own situation.
