1/16/2011.......I purchased the softcover edition of this
book last spring....wanted to learn better ways to freeze
vegetables and fruits....it is an excellent book that should
be read by beginners and old timers interested in putting
food by after the harvest....excellent directions, recipes and safety ideas
for freezing, canning, drying, salting, harvested fruits and
vegetables!! The pros and cons of Pressure Canners versus Hot Water baths was a real eye-opener when it came to safety issues....
This book is excellent for the novice or the experienced. It has been a well used and loved reference book. It includes all types of food storage and a variety of foods from fruit and vegetables to meats. This would be the last cookbook I would part with...
