Thank You, Pam Pierce, for this excellent guide. We and many friends have used it for several years and have successfully raised many varieties of edibles in our gardens. Highly recommended for anyone living along the CA coast. This volume is indispensible!
Fabulous resource for growing in the multiple little bioregions of the area. If we could have only a very few gardening books this would be one of the top three!
A terrific book, my goto reference for practical advice about vegetable gardening. It's very local to my region (San Francisco Bay Area and environs), limits itself fairly strictly to vegetables, and targets beginners like me. Thus it is able give a very satisfy breadth and depth of coverage to the topics I go to it for. (note to Dave: I imagine that someday his website will render this type of book obsolete by addressing gardening data microclimate by microclimate.)
