This is a GREAT book for beginners. It was the first book I bought and it taught me how to get most all of my cacti to bloom. It gives a month by month of what your plants need. You have to adjust your timing depending on your region. It's targeted for a colder climate. I'm in a warmer climate so my dormat period is shorter than the book says. I reccomend this book no matter what region you are in.

This is an excellent "first" book for the gardener interested in the different types of cacti. It is clearly written and the accompanying pictures are excellent. I take it with me for ID purposes when plant shopping.
