Of all my gardening books, if I could only keep one, it would be this one. It has every topic you need. I continually refer to it. I've recently started a Master Gardening course and it excellent supplemental material. It's expensive, but worth it. Shop around and you can find it for less.

One of my first Garden books ever, sent to me from the RHS by family. Eleven years later I still refer to it, and still learn from it. Perfect gift for anyone starting to garden.
