They are renowned hosta growers, having hybridized or distributed for other hybridizers so many of the well-known varieties. Their picturesque nursery, situated on acres of land including probably 15 or 20 greenhouses, also offers a selection of perennials, shrubs, and daylilies.
I spent hours wandering through the property, paying special attention to their botanical collection and gardens that include hundreds and hundreds of hostas and hemerocallis displayed by originating hybridizer. (The Wades have also showcased many of their hostas at the Ohio State Arboretum gardens in Columbus.)
The prices are fair and the service was good the day I was there. I look forward to a return visit. And I will take a picnic next time!
