I was pleasantly suprised by the knowledge of the staff. I brought in a photo and they asked several questions regarding the area to be planted, with the idea being to put the right plant in the right spot. Needless to say, my rhododenron did wonderful last year. The plant center itself is beautiful out there in the country. You can tell that they take good care of the plants so you know you're getting something healthy. Overall it was a great experience. I will go back again this summer!
I had a small area to plant at my house and had no idea what to plant there. After calling Rave Discount Plant Center I was told to bring in some pictures and measurements and that someone would help me with my landscaping. When I got there the staff was more than helpful and asked me several questions about how much sun and shade I get ,if I had deer in my area, and do I prefer blooming plants or evergreens. Within a half hour they drew up a plan, showed me all the plants that they would use and even offered to deliver everything. I was more than pleased with the plants and advice and my small area is now looking like a million bucks. Going to do another area soon!

The tv commercials boast that Raves is a discount plant place...so not true. The staff, not curteous, I visited once, was disappointed, went back to give the garden center the benefit of the doubt, the garden center failed me again. The staff, didn't say hello, there was absolutely no courtesy in regard for a small gardener like myself. I feel that Rave's is more a "large scalre landscaper" garden center, not really for a hobbyist. The plants, when I was there, were not in great shape. The plants were highly overpriced...this is coming from someone who buys new Hemerocallis cultivars at about $200 for a single fan...so this is saying something. Again, my disappointment was in thinking that Rave's was for the hobbyist, in which they are not, they are more for large scale landsapers. Not recommended.
