First, Sally's plant material is almost always in great condition and there's almost always a great selection which is different on each visit. Second, her prices make it worth the trip if you are buying more than 3" containers (and sometimes even then). Herb gardeners would do best to come here, stock up, and go home to Atlanta than try to put together the same selection from seven stores or for thrice the price in Atlanta. Third, it's lovely to see Sally's garden decoration ideas. I commend the crew for succeeding in walking a difficult line in their location -- having to act as a "Pike's" or "Home Depot" for many of the locals -- and also striving to attract the more serious gardener. | | frausnow | On January 25, 2007, frausnow from Winterville, GA wrote: Going to Thyme After Thyme is like taking a trip to the Botanical Gardens! Not only do they have an abundant supply of plants, shrubs, trees, lots of herbs, etc., but it looks like a professional designer has laid out every area just perfectly. Take a walk through the woods to see some wonderful specimens placed strategically to show off their beauty. The whole nursery is a soothing and calming place to visit if you ever want to slow the pace of your lifestyle for just a little while. There are water features, benches, fragrances, and the friendliest big ole dog you'd ever want to meet. Definitely one of my favorite places to visit. |
