If you just go and have a picnic at Elm Lake, you'll see all kinds of herons, Black-bellied Whistling ducks, Common Moorhens and so many more birds and of course, you'll see alligators! The Pilant Slough trail had beautiful butterflies, wildflowers and as I headed back in the evening I saw fireflies! I spotted a Mississippi Kite on that trail too but I also saw one on the Horseshoe Lake trail where I also saw a couple of armadillos. Well worth the entry fee. I can't wait to go again. |
