The Veterans Home in Yountville, California, (north of Napa) is 900 acres of peace and tranquility designed over 150 years ago to serve as a final residence for veterans. It is a beautiful property with over 300 species of trees donated from the San Francisco Botanical Garden Society, mostly in the 1920s. With room to grow, you can see magnificent specimens of trees that are in their full glory because there is no city encroachment. The Arboretum has recently been catalogued by one of the residents, Bob Heiss, and two brochures for a self guided tour are available at the entrance to the Home.
