This is a 3,412 acre preserve of forest and steep stream valleys in the Lehigh River Watershed that is the Pocono Plateau of PA, not far southeast of Wilkes Barre on Route 115. It is mostly dense, rocky upland forest with lots of floor cover of vegetation and also some open forest. Mostly White Oak, Red Oak, Red Maple, and American Beech with some White Pines, Pitch Pines, Hemlock, and Yellow Birch trees. Lots of Mountain-laurel and Wintergreen Checkerberry present along with much fern cover and Sweetferns. Good number of birds and mammals, including some bobcats, coycotes, and even a few Black Bears that one never sees in the day. Lots of trails for hiking, designated with different colors. The red loop is the longest of over 6 miles, the purple loop about 5 miles, the green loop about 2 miles, the blue loop about 1.5 miles, and the yellow loop about 1 mile.
