I also purchased a 'Bonica' rose bush and a hardy fucshia and they are doing very well. The plants all looked in good condition when purchased. (I did visit the nursery only in spring so I cannot judge the watering issue). The selection was good for a small nursery and I thought the prices were fair. | | number1greg | On August 26, 2007, number1greg from Enumclaw, WA wrote: We went to this nursery in Mid July 07.
I found the plants to be generally cared poorly for, signs of stress and poorly watered.
The prices were not anything to write home about, especially considering the quality. They did have a few species that seemed to be doing fair to well, but few.
They did have an assortment of garden nick-nacks and other items that we have not seen other places.
If you have to drive more than 10 minutes don't bother. Have only been once but....have been to lots and lots of nurseries that would rate much higher....fred meyers (ha)
Next year hire some more help or something. I know this is mostly a "sell buy internet" place, would not do this after seeing the quality of the things for retail.

Good prices as well. | | Pixydish | On January 12, 2007, Pixydish from Lakewood, WA wrote: I have ordered from Big Dipper Farm, have bought from them at the NW Flower and Garden Show, and have also visited their nursery. Their plants are good sized, healthy, and they have a large selection, including hard to find varieties. I recommend visiting the retail site if you can because not only can you hand-select your plant, but they are likely to have things not listed on the catalog site. |
