The garden began in 1912 and covers approximately 44 hectares (110 acres) on scenic Point Grey at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, B.C. The collections include over 8000 different plants in roughly 12 000 living accessions including a substantial representation of rare Asian species, alpine & rock garden collection, Magnolias and native plants. Part of the gardens is situated amongst old Douglas Fir and Cedar within metres of the ocean. A must-see for the plantsperson. |
