The scoop on 'Singing Springs Nursery'

This was my first year ordering from this company. I am greatly impressed with the plant selection and large size of shipped plants. My order was received the week I specified and even though the box was dented by UPS my plants were all so expertly packaged that all were in excellent condition and exactly as ordered! For hard to get tender perennials and tropicals this is definitely the place to go. Will order from them again.

My only suggestion is that the company send out UPS tracking numbers or an email when the order is shipped out. (The company informed me that recently stopped sending UPS tracking numbers). I order from many mail order plant companies and like to get the tracking number (or email) so I can make sure someone is there to unpack the plants immediately.

this is one of the rare moments that you wished that there could be a better word than "positive" to describe an experience with a company.


with all the ordering i do ( a record high of 120 orders this season) i can count on 3 fingers who is considered OUTSTANDING.

i rec'd my order yesterday and just about fell to the ground because i was so shocked at what i saw.
the plants that i rec'd were not only well packaged, but they were some of the healthiest, largest and most beautiful of the season. the company's communication has been excellent through out, they fill their orders completely...you just can't ask more from anyone. beyond excellent.

without question, i wouldn't hesitate to recommend this company as one of the very few that you can count on to get the very best quality plants on the market today.

i for one, know where i'm buying from now on...sure will make my life easier!

This is my second year of ordering from Singing Springs. Once again,I am extremely pleased with the quality of the plants received, and everything was very well packaged. In fact, I was shocked to see how large some of the plants were in my recent order.

You can bet that I will continue to order from Pam at Singing Springs.

I just received my order. They are a nice size and two of the plants were blooming. I will be buying from them again. What a great place!!!

What a pleasure it was to discover this mail order nursery. Unusual offerings at a reasonable price and excellent packaging. And plants are not those puny little plugs that take forever to reach full growth. It doesn't matter as much with perennials, which will be around for years, but on tender plants who wants to waste 2 months of the season waiting for a plant to reach it's full height. I hope this company gives other less customer friendly ones a run for their (my) money.

Beautiful plants so perfectly described that I know exactly how they will combine with and compliment my other plants...as a creeper, a tall swooper, or standing erect. Photos are great but don't often illustrate this feature.

Love the beautiful foliage plants...my special interest...and both last year and this year found plants new to me and not often seen in other catalogs. Even more important, many are hardy in my zone 8a garden. Others I easily 'carried over' from cuttings.

Just a winner in service and selection of gotta-have plants!

I ordered several coleus plants for a friend and had them shipped to her address in another state. I also ordered several coleus for myself. Singing Springs mixed up the shipping dates and sent my friend her plants on my ship date. When I informed them about it, they immediately set about to make things right. Offering either a refund or another shipment of plants to my friend on the correct date. In addition they sent me a $35.00 gift certificate. There was no haggling, no hedging. They took responbility and made it right.

The plants they sent, as advertised, were large well-rooted healthy, coleus plants and priced right. Delivery was speedy and packaging adequate to keep the breakable branches of coleus intact. Plants arrived on the dry side, no doubt due in part to the moisture requirements of such large plants. With great variety, excellent customer service and good value, I will definitely return to Singing Springs.

Make that VERY positive! My order came yesterday and I am very impressed with the packaging and mostly because the plants are gorgeous. And big! I plant a lot of containers each year and love when I receive tender perennials and annuals that are large. These plants are beyond large!

The prices were very fair. For example, I bought a phormium that cost me $15 and it came large and in great shape. White Flower Farm (of which I am also a fan) is selling phormiums, same size I believe, for $65.

Anyhow, I strongly recommend this company!

I found this nursery by accident on the internet. Imagine my surprise when I found them mentioned in a New York Times
article a few weeks ago. The plants came well packaged and in a very timely manner. I would defineitely do business with them again.

I am so glad I found Chris and Singing Springs! Before ordering Chris spent a lot of time emailing and answering my questions and making suggestions...and this was in her busiest time!!! When the plants came I could not believe the sizes! Unlike so many mail order companies, these are PLANTS not starters! The packaging was superior and most importantly, they arrived when they were scheduled to arrive. Check out some of the prices of their neighbors in NC and I think you'll agree...this is quality at a fair price!

Wow!! I found this company by doing internet searches for particular plants and then I read the GardenWatchdog reviews and decided to order. I ordered last Friday and got my plants the following Wednesday. Fast service in my opinion! And what plants! They are good-sized and were packed wonderfully. As I took them from the box, my wife commented that they looked as if they had just come from the greenhouse instead of traveling hundreds of miles in a box. I will order again.

My current favorite mail order plant source, even though it's my first year of ordering! The TOP selection (in my view) of wild, weird and wonderful plants, mostly tropical/tender (for me, in Zone 5B), but a few hardy perennials and shrubs as well. I am currently crazy about container gardening and 'tropicalismo', and this company is totally on my wave length. I was prepared to receive small plants that wouldn't live up to my fantasies, so was blown away by the size and health of the shipment I got. If I had only known it was going to be that good, I would have placed a much larger order. I will definitely be doing so next year. They shipped on time and packing was excellent. Prices pretty high, but well worth it.

Plants arrived during the week I specified in May 2003. They were very well packed and surprisingly large and husky. Over half of them were already blooming. This nursery offers an excellent selection, including a number of plants that are hard to find. Highly recommended.

Third time I have ordered from this nursery. Excellent selection of tender perennials and unusual plants. Very generously sized plants, always shipped carefully and in great condition on arrival. Personalized service.

This is my fourth time ordering from Singing Springs and I am always satisfied with the plants I receive. They are so well packed and BIG. I ordered coleus which I've ordered from here before and am always surprised at the large size she sends. I also ordered the heuchera 'Amber Waves' which was healthy and also large and a couple of other perennials. Excellent company.

Ordered from their website; Cuphea (5 varieties), Agastache 'Blue Frotune', Datura metel, Ruellia brittoniana and Salvia leucantha 'Santa Barbara'. Quick email responses with specific instructions for ordering. Charges (plant prices and shipping) as quoted in email. Plants packed very well so no breakage of limbs. Reasonable shipping at $1.50 per plant with the care they take in packing. Plants are good size and healthy. Received when requested. Overall good experience.

TERRIFIC CATALOG...I got some great ideas for combinations from them....pricey!! I ordered coleus, lantana, a mix of others.....great shipping (pricey, again!!) but prompt....good condition...I will order again...mostly tropicals...not hardy in my zone 6!!

I ordered plants, a mixture of coleus,alocasias and misc in the early spring.The plants came in a very nice size and in good health..the coleus were a little cold nipped but that was UPS fault..maybe they should change to a more caring shipper.
Overall I was very pleased with the quality of the plants.I will order from them again. :-)

I received a catalog from this company this spring and ordered several things. When the box of plants came, exactly at the time I had specified, I was amazed at what large plants were shipped and how well they were packaged for shipping. One plant was a fern and not so much as an unfurling frond was disturbed!

I have ordered from Singing Springs Nursery. Their catalog states that they "specialize in uncommon tender plants and choice perennials". They do have a lot of rare and unusual annuals, tender perennials and perennials. The plants were packaged very carefully and were surprisingly large. There catalog was free and contains thorough descriptions and many photos.
