September 02, 2009 | If you are looking for lilies, look no further! I ordered 15 or so oriental bulbs in the spring and all of them bloomed into big beautiful flowers that lasted. The customer service here is stellar,,,I was a pain and asked to have my order shipped earlier than their ship date and they were very helpful allowing my order to ship at the first possible safe date! I will definitely be shopping with these guys again. P.S, they also send newsletters with great end of season sales too if you want! |

July 04, 2009 | I ordered hostas in May, June and July. Several orders were quite large. The condition of all the plants were excellent, every time. The hosta are huge, well packed and arrive so fresh that the leaves are crisp. The hostas are very large divisions with an extremely large full root system.Shipping from Hallson's in Michigan to me in Nebraska is just a couple of days, very reasonable and the communication with the owners is the best customer service I have experienced in a long time.

July 02, 2009 | This was my first order from Hallson's but certainly won't be my last! I ordered hostas at the end of June and thought that they might suffer in the heat...They arrived in less that a week in perfect condition. They are generously sized and beautiful...Perfect packing kept them safe. I am very excited about them and can't wait to add them to my gardens. Oh, and thanks for the lovely bonus plant:) |

June 09, 2009 | I placed my first order with Hallson's last week. I received my order less than a week later and it included beautiful and lush Hosta plants. The root systems on the plants were well established and I was highly impressed. As if the top quality plants were not enough, they included a free plant that was just as nice as all of the others in the shipment. From now on, I will be buying a lot more from Hallson's. They are top notch! |

June 05, 2009 | I am lucky to live an hour or so from this nursery so I've never mailordered from them. I make a yearly trek to their retail nursery. Their plants are huge and healthy. The nursery is the most immaculate I've ever seen. Even in the middle of the summer when many other place's plants tend to look draggly, theirs are still robust. And they are very knowledgeable, helpful and just plain nice. |

June 02, 2009 | I thought I was done with spring plantings and could put my wallet away, but the echincacea bug bit me this year and I just had to have one more plant and variety to round things out. I ended up placing this small order with Hallson Gardens due to their good rating here, their attractive and hype-free website, and their good prices.
Shortly after placing the order, I received a very courteous evening call from Chris. He explained that they had just about sold out the crop and that the remaining plants were small. He offered to include more than one in my order if I still wanted to go ahead, so I agreed. He also took the time to inquire about my intended use of the plants, to make sure I was likely to be successful.
I received *three* small but very nice bareroot plants for the price of one. I'll be happy to grow them from that size and I'm pleased with both the value and the service. |

Nicely packaged with individual labels for each plant. Large bulbs and huge roots, as well as a very nice bonus. This is by far my favorite mail order nursery. You'll not find better products, better service , or more honest business owners anywhere else. Don't be hesitant to order from Hallson's. I'm sure you'll be satisfied too. :-) |

May 11, 2009 | Sometimes it is difficult to find newer cultivars here, so last year when I wanted a Rozanne geranium I ordered from a local co. that picks up plants in Denver. Got a one quart Rozanne for $10. Loved the plant, but this year when I wanted more I went looking for someplace that might be a little better value. Found Hallson, and ordered 3 Rozannes for $7 each. Huge roots, far bigger than my one quart from last year! Also got 3 Mr. Goodbud sedums, again large, healthy roots. And a bonus lily was included. Thanks, guys; I'm happy with the plants, I'm happy with the service, I'm happy with the price! |

April 29, 2009 | Today I received my first order from Hallson Gardens.
The lily bulbs were large, healthy, and sprouting. The perennial had an enormous root system and the crown had new growth. The person I spoke with on ordering said he'd go dig one up for me that day. He must have because my order arrived via US mail only 4 days after I placed it.
All items were packed in fine peat in plastic bags, labels included.
I was impressed with the product and the customer service and will definitely order from them again. |

I purchased 30ish Lilium bulbs (this last spring) for my Father-in-law and I and they were in perfect health and as described.

The plants arrived today-very fast shipping, very well packaged-they are nice big root balls with a decent top of green. I am thrilled! They look healthy as can be. I even got a nice little extra too, will look great in the flower bed. I will for sure order from this company again. |

June 25, 2008 | I have been ordering from Hallson's for years. I placed two orders this year; one in January and one just last week. It arrived today and I couldn't be happier. I actually received orders from two hosta nurseries today and the plants from the other place, which are nice, can't even compare to the ones from Hallson Gardens. Hallson's are double the size with double the leaves.
I have always received healthy plants and never worry about HVX when I order from Hallson's.
I would recommend Hallson Gardens to anyone looking for a single plant or a garden's worth. I only wish they were closer to me. I would love to visit the nursery and really do some shopping. |

I received beautiful healthy plants and a bonus also. I would highly recommend talking with Chris first, then order away. He's honest with what sizes will be sent and when they ship, they take extreme care in making sure your plants will arrive fresh and looking like they were just dug 10 minutes before you got them. I'm highly pleased with this company and highly recommend them. |

June 16, 2008 | WOW! I was amazed at the size of these hostas and so healthy and well packaged. I can hardly wait to order more from them. Hallsons is definitely the the ultimate hosta source. And the bonus plant is just as awesome...it is Holy Mole(was on my wish list). Love the Kiwi Gold Rush I picked out....get this one. It is a big, really bright one and will stand out in the garden.
The lilies are great also and am wanting to order some of their other perennials.

June 01, 2008 | This is the first hosta I've ordered from Hallson's and I'm SO impressed! It was much bigger than I have received from other mail order sources. The way they package it is ingenious and virtually assures success when planting. All the soil is removed and the roots wrapped in a wet paper towel. Then it's put into a plastic bag (not a Ziploc -- far too expensive) and sealed. No disturbance at all in shipping, which was priority mail. My mail carrier knocked on my door when it was delivered and I was able to plant it right away. It's larger than the same hosta I lost to drought a few years ago. I was pointed to Hallson's by somebody on the Hostas forum, so it was a reliable reference. You can't be too careful these days with HVX popping up at big box stores and mail order nurseries alike.
If you want perfect hostas, buy from Hallson's. Oh, and they sent me a beautiful lily bulb as a bonus. A little late to plant, since my all-container garden is full, but I appreciate very much their thoughtful gesture. |

May 24, 2008 | Hallson offers the most gorgeous plants. My hibiscus plants were so huge it was unreal. So healthy with new shoots popping out everywhere. The bare root ostrich ferns I ordered are already a foot tall in less than 3 weeks. I was so impressed that I placed a second order and got that shipment in 2 days. The complimentary plants that Chris tucks in are so great. I have ordered off of Dave's other Top 20 but Hallson is by far the best. My hosta, ferns, hibiscus, and perennials are THRIVING. Exceptional customer service. Highly recommended. |

May 17, 2008 | I received my first order from Hallson this week. Unfortunately, for another company, their order arrived on the same day. The comparison was unbelievable. Hallson beat the other company hands down in packing, instructions, and oh, the plants.
My hostas from Hallson were up to 8 inches tall, with almost that much in root, too. Their plants were exceptional.
The other company had sent one that was not even up 2 inches and had little roots, and their prices were higher!
I plan on doing all of my Hosta business at Hallson. And will definitely check their other selections. |

I couldn't be happier. I have had such bad luck with mail order I had given up. Then I joined Daves Garden a month ago and my life has taken a 180 degree turn.
