Period Plants have a small but interesting list of plants whose ancestors you could find in English gardens prior to the 1700's. The catalogue is good reading for those of us interested in the history of plants. The web site has information about the plants and the people who wrote about them.

I first came across this nursery at a plant fair. Every plant is still thriving in my garden and came to me well packaged. They also operate a garden design service.

Well worth a look!
