The scoop on 'Secret Garden Rare Plants'

I ordered 2 native azaleas. I received 2 healthy plants in a timely manner that were well packaged. I am well pleased.

I have ordered plants from this business for about 5 years and several times a year. The plants I receive are always large and healthy--no sign of insects or other unwanted critters. They are carefully packed and wrapped and always arrive in great condition. Plants are shipped out promptly and I can count on my order arriving within a few days. I have never been disappointed in an order or purchase. Emails and phone calls are promptly returned. Customer satisfaction is important to them. The 6 or 8 inch baskets are full, speciman quality and at a good price. I will continue to purchase plants from this business because of the high quality of plants and service.

I just received my third shipment from this company. The plants always arrive in perfect condition, thanks to careful packaging, and they are consistently large, healthy, and pest-free. Last week I ordered a 6 inch pot of H. shepherdii and what I got was a mature specimen sized plant with 66 peduncles! Communications via email are always answered promptly and the orders arrive on the day promised. This nursery gets my highest recommendation.

I ordered a couple plants and some pots about 3 weeks ago. Like a lot of people who have left feedback on this website, I too had problems with communicating with this company regarding confirmation of my order. I had ordered through PalPay and was not sure if the received my order or not.
I finally received my order yesterday. None of the plants I received were the plants I ordered. When I called, the person I talked to informed me that the plants I ordered were not available. Since the price of one of the plants I ordered exceeded the price of the plants I received it was agreed that the price of that plant ( $12.95 ) would be refunded.
The plants I did receive were huge, much bigger than can be expected from other online nurseries for the same price. The plants were very well packaged and arrived in perfect condition. I don't think there was even a leaf out of place!
One size of the pots I ordered was not available either but they substituted them for the next size pot and sent a few extra pots.
I will definitely order from this company again except I will first make sure that the plants I want to order are available.

Received a nice sized, Hoya Kerrii Reverse variegation..
Pot is loaded w/foliage, and plant was true to its picture..I ordered via Ebay, recently discovering the seller was affilated with Secret Gardens Nursery.
Plant was well-packaged..No rips or bent leaves.
Considering this plant is reverse in color, a rarity, pricing was fair.
I've ordered from SG's in the past and never had any bad experiences. Will order again..

A couple of months ago, I ordered several plants from this company. They were shipped promptly, packed well, and were big, healthy plants. No complaints at all. I will do business again with this company.

I have been a repeat customer of Jodie's and Secret Garden for years now (I wrote a review as wildrose10101 three years ago). Just received my biggest order yet... nine plants... all in perfect shape, well packed. Jodie has consistently offered large, well rooted plants... always healthy, always pest-free.

Shipping is reasonable, prices are more than fair, plants always shipped when promised. Honest people. I highly recommend, and I myself will continue to order from Secret Garden in the future.

I ordered a couple of Epiphyllums, an Orchid, and a Rhipsalis from this company on ebay. The orchid had black spots on it, yellow leaves, a hole in one p'bulb and pink crust on all of the p'bulbs. I could not remove the orchid from the pot without breaking roots. I could not remove the orchid bark without soaking them off. I bought 2 S. chrysocardium and only received one. The other plants were small, and the Rhipsalis was advertised as plants, they were barely rooted cuttings.
I sent an email to them and a week later went ahead and left negative feedback. A month later they finally left feedback also negative. They never replied to my email, nor replaced the plant they jipped me. I would not advise ordering from this company if you value your ebay score.

I ordered several plants and some pots after a friend told me how wonderful this company is . The plants were all large size , blooming , foliage plants , great size, customer service good, packaging , shipping good. Would shop again.

I have made several orders with them with had excellent service and recieved perfect plants. Had great communication dealing with shipping as our weather kept going up and down, freezeing then not lol. Everything arrive just perfect. One order I had ordered 2 small plants of the same kind. He sent a me huge potful that could have been divided into 6 plants if I had wanted to.

An order was mailed on Feb., 2006 and requested that the plants be shipped by May 10. Several weeks later I send another copy of the order with this note: "since we have not gotten a confirmation for this order, I fear it may not have reached you. If you did get the original order, please ignore this mailing."

Since the deadline for the shipping period was approaching I sent an email about May 8. I got no reply. I think I send one more email before going to Garden Watchdog to send the email to which they finally replied.

I then send a reply email outlining the above, re-listing the plants ordered, and asked if they now intended to supply the order. I have gotten no reply.

Although I experienced the same issues with not hearing from this company after placing an order as others have, I have to say that my experience is positive. I ordered 200 4" pots and have received about 1/4 of them, the rest are on back order. My shipment came w/ a handwritten note promising the rest of the pots asap when they come in. I'll post here again when the rest arrive, if I remember.

I also ordered a Brome - Crypt 'IT'. I am exceptionally pleased with this plant. It is in a 4" pot, but bigger around than a dinner plate. It was packed very well and had absolutely no damage from shipping. This plant has had excellent care and looks as if it came from a nursery that specializes in Bromes. For the price I paid I expected a much smaller, mediocre plant.

If you can be patient after your ordering process in hearing from this company you will not regret ordering from them. Just don't get excited when you don't get a confirmation e-mail from them that your payment was received thru Paypal. Don't look for an e-mail that your order is shipped. Just know it's on it's way and you'll be more than happy with it!

I have ordered from this wonderful company for the past couple years several times and always extremly happy. Great comunication, nice emails and nice on the phone even though they are very busy they always take the time to help ! There prices are excellent and shipping cost are low too ! Quality is excelent . Most tmes I can order Friday and have my order no later than WED. and I do live in FLorida it comes Priority Mail .

Positive is too lame of a term. They are very very helpful and customer service oriented. Even to the point of helping me with a tree that I purchased from my local nursery.

I purchased two trees from them. The packaging and shipping were awesome! The trees were already bearing fruit! While trees that I have gotten from other internet sources can at best be described as twigs not these, two beautiful beauties. They have green leaves with blooms and well developed limb structure.

While the tree that I purchased from my local nursery (6 months ago) is the same size, the price was four times what I paid here and it is doing poorly. The two trees that I purchased from here not only have blooms but a lot of new growth (which the nursery purchased tree never experienced).

I will only buy from here in the future. After wasting my money elsewhere, I have finally been blessed with finding this excellent company who are committed to the success of the plants that we share our world with!

I'd heard great reviews regarding this establishment, so I didn't hesitate to order from them.

I placed an order online via paypal , but didn't receive any type of confirmation that they received the order or the money. I followed up with a phone call a few days later and the person who answered the phone still was unable to find my order and was thus unable to verify that they'd received it. He asked me to call back later in the afternoon. I forgot to call back so did not call back for 2 days. I then spoke with a very nice man(different voice than the gentleman whom I spoke with days earlier). He verified that he had my order and that it was sent up for packing that day.

I received the plants a couple of days later. I opened the box and found that the V. Maranta had 3-4 yellowing mature leaves and lots of tiny green ones. I thought that it might have been the shock from shipping, so I waited to see how the leaves would behave. They became more yellow , so I cut them off. I checked the plant for mites, but there weren't any. I then placed the pot into a plastic ziploc bag for added humidity thinking that might prevent further yellowing of the leaves. I sent an email about 1 week after receipt of the plants and advised them of exactly what had happened. No response. 3 days later on 11/04/05 I received a read message receipt that they had read the email. To this day I have not received a response of any kind.

The second plant I ordered, a H. Heuschkeliana, was healthy. It was small, but not bad for the price I paid.

My feedback is neutral because while I was unhappy with the Variegated Maranta, I was happy with the Hoya Heuschkeliana.

Got off to a bad start with this company but after another try was much happier with plants I since have had a few happy orders nice people to deal with.

I ordered several plants, some of which where hoya or epi cactus cuttings. The cuttings came as more than just cuttings, they were well rooted plants! Shipping was prompt and more than reasonable as far as price. The plants were packed extremely well. When I first got the box in the mail it was completely crushed do to a postal service mishap, and I was heart broken until I opened it and and found that everything was so carefully packed and padded that there was no damage done to the plants.

I've ordered Hoya's from Secret Garden twice before, and have another order in with them right now. The plants I have previously received are well grown, well rooted and some have even bloomed within weeks of shipment. I highly recommend this seller.

I just placed an order with Secret Garden a week ago. I love houseplants and tropicals that I can grow outside from May-Sept, then bring in to keep the house "green" in winter. I ordered several ferns, and received them in 3 days! The plants were large, healthy, and in fantastic shape on arrival. There was one small discrepency regarding multiples of two plants, but the staff was friendly when I called, and quickly and politely corrected the problem and sent the remaining plants immediately. I have used mail order in the past for my plants, but I have never been more satisfied. I highly recommend Secret Garden, and personally, I will continue to order from them in the future. I've ordered from Secret Garden Rare Plants twice- once last year and once just recently. Both times I got very quick service and nice, good-sized, healthy plants. The prices were reasonable, and the plants were carefully packaged to arrive in perfect shape.
There's a good selection and variety of plants here. I got some lovely ferns, a couple succulents, & misc. things. All were fantastic!
