I sent my money order last Tuesday 7/1/08, and received my plants in the mail yesterday 7/7/08.
Sure fast shipping! I sent emails, because this was my first mail order purchase...and, they were answered, in one to two word answers.....but, they were answered none the less.

My plants were in great shape when they arrived....and the prices can't be beat!!

Will be ordering from them again, until I have a reason to not order from them.

Excellent shopping experience! I've been looking for a String of Beads plant for months and finally found one here. They shipped it quickly and well packaged. I also ordered a Chenille Plant and a Ficus pumila Quercifolia (Oak leaved fig). All plants are healthy and ready to go. Thanks so much!

I just got an order from this company. I would not have ordered from them if I had looked here first, so I was pleasantly surprised when my plants arrived alive. They are small but seem to be healthy. They were mailed out on a Friday which surprised me because most places wait until Monday so they won't be left in a warehouse over the weekend. They were pretty dry but not wilted. The shipping was kind of pricey but not outrageous. I will order from them again. They have lots of unusual plants and the prices are good.

I too was hesitant on ordering because of the negative reports on this company but did order Spigelia Marlandica (Indian Pink) and received 8 very nice, healthy, and well developed plants. Each plant's pot was wrapped to prevent dehydration, were well packed, and shipped USPS - Priority. Until given good reason not to, I will order from this company again, without qualm.

This product was shipped to the Buyer's shipping address provided by ebay on the purchase invoice. It was purchased on 4/30/08 and paid for on 5/2/08 - shipped on 5/12/08 ( 10 days from payment ) which is not unreasonable during this period of heavy spring orders, especially during the week of Mother's Day.

I was a little hesitant to purchase from this vendor based on some of the negative reviews, but they had good prices on a couple of things I wanted, so I placed a small order to give them a try. I ordered two begonia plants.

I promptly received an email receipt, and later received a status, and then a shipping notice. Plants arrived promptly and very well packaged. They appear quite healthy and in good shape. Being begonias (and I'm a newbie at them), if they don't make it, I expect it will be because of me and not them.

Based on this experience, I would certainly try them again next time they have something I am interested in.

Wow! What a delight to open the package and find all of the plants doing well! All 5 plants were in beautiful shape. I was really afraid that our weather would do the plants in before they even got to the house. We are currently sitting under an Arctic cold front and the max temperature is 43 and the minimum was in the low 20's.

The plants were wrapped exceptionally well. There were no broken leaves and no bud drop. The flowers were all open with a couple of petals creased. Considering the plants went from Delaware to Idaho over the weekend I could not ask any supplier to do a better job!

Three cheers to Accents and the Postal Service for bringing the plants straight through with no delays!

Thanks Frederick!

I purchased 9 Kent Beauty Oregano from this company. When they arrive 2 of them were broken and browning due to poor packaging and cold weather. They still had some green on them and I tried to revive them unsuccessfully. When I emailed the company the response was, "sorry, but all were of equal quality when packed and shipped."
This is a totally unacceptable. It's my fault they they arrived in poor condition??? We pay exorbitant prices to have plants shipped they can at least arrive in good condition. I have never had a plant vendor be so irresponsible!!!

First time purchase from this company, and it was a good experience. I was pleased to see that their on-line catalog listed many houseplants that aren't seen much anymore.
I purchased two plants, a flame violet and a German ivy. Both plants were packed well, in a priority mail box with the stamp "Do not subject to extreme heat or cold." I am sure that means nothing, but at least they make the effort to warn shippers that the package must be handled with care. The plants were shipped on Monday, and today (Wednesday) they were dropped off at my door. (The package had to travel from Delaware to western Pennsylvania.) The German ivy was in good shape, compost still very moist. The flame violet was wilted, as the compost had dried out, though with a good soaking, the plant was back to normal in no time. I'll order from this company again, though probably in the late spring/early summer, when the temperatures outside are lower.

One of the plants I ordered wasn't available and they included a cash refund that was about $1.50 more than the cost of the plant. I just placed another order and hope I'm as satisfied as I was with the previous order.

Wow. This is the the first time I've had to give negative feedback for anyplace I have purchased goods from - I truly hate to do it. However, I called Accents for the Home and Garden and was spoken to so horribly by the owner and his employee that I cannot believe anyone would want to do business with this company (I believe this is the mail order company for Peppers Greenhouse).

Here is my story: This is the first time I have ever ordered plants online and I didn't really know what to expect. I was looking for a plant called corsican mint and couldn't find it at my local nurseries. I found this vendor (through Daves Garden). I called them the on Wednesday the 2nd of May and asked how long it would take to get the plants if I ordered that day - they said that they could get them out fairly quickly if I paid that day. I did so and was very suprised to get them in just a couple of day -good job on getting them to me guys! Oh no, to my dismay, I ordered three and two were dead when they got to me. No - I do not believe that they intentionally sent me bad plants. I attributed the poor condition of the two plants to the way they were shipped or perhaps what they did to them right before shipping (maybe too much water or somehting). I wasn't sure - but either way I wanted to see if it was normal to receive them that way (remember, one was in great condition). I sent an email to the address notated in the confirmation they sent me. Attached to the email I sent close up pictures of each plant I received. I waited and waited for a response....knowing that the company was extremely busy for Mother's Day week, I thought it best to wait until the craiziness died and they had a chance to breathe easy.

Today is Wed. May 16th - still no response. I called a few minutes ago and the woman that answered was so very ugly to me and basically told me that I had to take care of 'this kind of business' online - I told her I sent an email two weeks ago and still haven't received a response...she basically called me a liar ... that "he" answers all emails. Finally - horribly rudly - she put "him" on the phone. My first words to "him" were - "wow, she was kind of rude" - he said (before he even knew what I wanted) "I will probably be worse...but go ahead anyway" ... I was like, "huh???" wow..... Anyway - I proceeded to tell him about my experience and the email I sent - he said that he remembered seeing my email and that maybe the dead ones would resprout or something - that stuff like that can happen when sending plants and that they have a strick no money back policy... I told him I wanted to give them the chance to help me but he wasn't hearing anything of it.

I learned about this vendor through this site and wanted to pass on my experience since these type of site help me to decide who I want to do business with. Besides he said he could care less about the customers reviews here and that people would order from him anyway - no matter what kind of feedback he received from unhappy customers. He was so very rude and I hope this was a one-off situation but I can't imagine that it was.

I do most of my shopping online - I love it, it's wonderful... I've never had an experience like this before ...

There is a bright side to my story ... I was able to order some mint from an ebay seller...this was not only the best plant purchase I've done online but my best ebay purchase as well...the seller was wonderful, all 10 plants (she does a buy one get one free offer) were shipped and showed up perfect plus she threw in some extra gifts (seeds and an extra/different mint plant..) so personalized and proffessional (if anyone is interested her ebay userid is mishmc53) please try her for any specialty herbs she has 100% possitive feedback out of 1500 sales....don't order from Accents for the Home and Garden .. they truly DON'T CARE. The ebay vendor took the extra care needed when shipping plants - especially delicate ones.

Thanks for letting me vent...please don't get burned from this plant vendor - even if you don't take my advise and look for mishmc53 on ebay ... try someplace that actually has all 100% (or close to it) good feedback, it really does make a difference.

I recently ordered from this company and was quite dissapointed. All $30.00 (4 2.5" pots) of my plant order arrived struggling for life. After 1 week of careful nurturing, 3 died. I know they have a no return, no refund policy but this was crazy. I emailed them right away pleading for replacements. I even offered to email pix of the plants for proof. They shot me down right away with "No , we do not replace as advertised.".

I do not recommend this company at all. Dont waste your time or money.

They arrived even faster than usual, and well-packaged. Foliage was in tact, in other words, no broken stems or leaves..Everytime I visit Accent's website, I see another plant I want..And prices are exceptional, especially for the sizes. Glad to do business w/this nursery...

Received my last plant order before winter, today.
Once again, after opening the package from Accents/Peppers, I was more than pleased.
5 healthy, good-sized plants..
Plants arrived promplty and well-packaged.
For those of you who shop at Accents, or browse their Online Catalog, read description carefully, even if it means opening individually.
Accents/Peppers uses common names some may be unfamilar with. So check the botanical name by clicking on each plant.
For instance, while browsing through their catalog, I found a plant labeled Tapistry Plant..I had no idea what it was so I clicked on the plant, and found out it was a Begonia discolor. I bought that guy fast. LOL.
Shipping was fast, too. Thanks Accents..Toni

On October 24th, 2007, Toni05 added the following:

I know I said I wouldn't chance ordering due to the weather, but decided to browse Accent/Peppers site, (one more time) and ended up pressing the Buy Now button 7 times..LOL
Included in my order were 2 hoyas,..they are fantastic and much larger than I expected.
My order arrived promptly..I admit, sometimes there is a short delay, but considering the huge orders Accent's ships during growing season, it's understandable. IMO, that goes to show the number of people who enjoy Accent's plants and supplies, and like myself, place multiple orders.
I had a question for Mr. Pepper regarding a plant so I sent him an email. He replied the following day.
I also like the fact Accent sells those 'hard to locate plants,' at reasonable prices. Compare prices to other nurseries and you'll see what I mean.
On April 1st, 2008, Toni05 added the following:

Placed my first order of the year now that temps warmed up...Since Accents/Peppers updated their site, they added a good number of new varieties; many rare, hard to find specimens..
Accents is one place that ships healthy, good-sized, reasonaly priced plants..
I had a few questions, emailed Fred, in which he replied the same day..Even though spring is officially here, a time nurseries are busy, (taking orders, packaging, and shipping) he responded promptly.
Plants I ordered are Dragon Fruit, Gold Strawberry Begonia, Tri-colored Strawberry Begonia, Cinnamon Plant, Flowering Jade, Starfish Pagoda, Spurge, and Medinilla..Each plant is good side, well-rooted, healthy leaves.
Packaging was carefully done..Shipping fast.
Eventually, I'd like to order one of each plant...don't have the option, due to money and space..LOL.
In my opinion, Accents is one of the best online nurseries..of course there's others, (I buy from a few nurseries) but from 1-10, 10 being the best, I give them !0+..
Keep up the good work, Thanks, Toni

I also receive a shipping notice, via email, the day plants are shipped.
Accents/Peppers has a great selection of plants, at reasonable prices.

Have purchased several plants in the past via Ebay.

Always healthy, well-rooted, and nicely packaged.

A pot full of roots is the best sign, to me, of a healthy thriving plant, and there are a few sellers on Ebay who send plants that are not well-rooted....these folks do consistently sell well-rooted plants.

My only 'gripe' would be that a time or two, (not necessarily every time) it seemed as though the plants were cut back just before they were shipped to me, so I'd specifically request they not do this if you should order from them.

I realize that often it's necessary to cut back a plant to fit into a box, but I don't feel that was the case.

Overall though, a positive plant purchasing experience!

I love to order from this company. Not only do they carry hard to find varieties, but the plants are always of good size and quality. I've ordered several times, and am always pleased with the plants I receive from Pepper's Greenhouse.

The only small drawback is the lack of communication (by way of order & payment confirmations, notification of shipping, etc.), but it certainly doesn't detract from the overall A+ nature of my experiences.

On March 26th, 2005, mkjones changed the rating from positive to neutral and added the following:

Unfortunately, my latest experience has been very below standard for this company. I ordered 2 variegated lantana, a scented & ivy geranium, a sedum, a rex begonia and the variegated "Charm" begonia.

I was highly dismayed to receive a basic semperflorens, NON-variegated begonia, in place of my "Charm." I already own "Charm," and know what the plant should represent.

I was also disappointed at the puny sizes of the little plants, put into the advertised 4" pots. In addition, several of the plants had thick moss growing in the pots, which is not a good sign of proper plant tending. Two of the plants had been repotted into used pots, with the original plant labels still affixed to the pot. Not good greenhouse hygiene.

I contacted the company on the day of arrival. No response. Contacted them again two days later, still hoping they'd rectify the situation, no response.

I am also still disappointed at the lack of any confirmation or shipping notices from this company. I specifically asked Ms. Pepper to notify me this time, as it is Spring Break in our area, and in the '70's. I can't afford to be out with my kids and have plants cooking on the porch, unattended. They were, nonetheless, sent without notice, and left unexpected.

I am changing my rating to "Neutral," and will reconsider going back up the scale, or further down, as this issue progresses.

There are too many wonderful companies and greenhouses out there to bother with a company that can't meet common standards.

On March 30th, 2005, mkjones changed the rating from neutral to negative and added the following:

No responses to emails. Very curt assortment of excuses when phoned directly. Owner said he\'d refund my money on the begonia, which had \"lost variegation during the winter.\"

Again, too many companies priding themselves on excellent quality product and service. Will not order f/Pepper\'s Greenhouse/Accents For the Home & Garden again.
