| Positive | dangela2 Yuma, AZ (1 review) July 10, 2005 | Dixie Landscape is run by a man named Jimmy Sharpe. He is an interested, enthusiastic, and helpful person. While he deals in various products, he specializes in mushroom compost. This is the substrate mushrooms are grown in (there are different types of mushroom growing substrates; Jimmy gets his from Pennsylvania). Dixie offers the mushroom compost, and potting mix called Dixie Mix (among other products). The company provides these materials in bulk amounts. They do not deal in bagged products. If you call Dixie and talk to Jimmy, he'll willingly provide you references for his products. If you want to try the bagged products, you'll have to call one of the retailers selling his products. But if you're on the west coast, be prepared to pay for shipping. It isn't cheap. I spoke with three different retailers about the compost and got glowing responses. |
