March 18, 2009 | I found out about Montoso Gardens here on DG. I recently ordered a cocoa pod from which I am growing the seeds. Theye were quick to anwer my e-mail enquiry and the shipment was fast. I am planning to order some plants when it is warmer.

I am in the quest to collect as many species of the rarer heliconias. I ordered from many companies, by far, montoso gardens is the best. Bryan is prompt, which is comforting when you order from mails, and is very understanding when i am undecisive on certain items.
The plants came promptly, was delivered to my doorstep, and the packing was impressive.
THE RHIZOMES WERE HUGE, FRESH WITH YOUNG SHOOTS AND ALL.
It shows Montoso gardens sends only the best to a customer far away in Singapore.

The shipping rate was based on the package weight and as always the service was excellent. From the many places I have bought heliconia rhizomes this is by far the best. Highly recommended!!! |

March 25, 2008 | I received two mangosteen trees yesterday from Montoso Gardens and was immediately impressed by how securely and carefully they were packaged. The trees were in great shape (no leaf droop or mold) despite being delayed a few days over the holiday weekend. I must also add that I have never received personalized emails from any other mail order company that I have dealt with before (and I've dealt with most of the biggies). That was a little surprising, but very much appreciated. They've definitely got themselves another loyal customer. |

July 19, 2007 | I found Montoso gardens on here (Dave's garden watchdog), and noticed their good feedback, so I contacted Bryan and placed an order for a dozen Heliconias, and several other Gingers and Calatheas. Bryan was great, he answered every email and question promptly, was very polite and professional. The plants arrived very well packaged and healthy. His prices are great, very good selection, and the rhizomes he sent were bigger than anyone else I had ordered from before. I can't wait to place my next order, highly recommended. |

June 05, 2007 | Looked at Montoso Gardens website and was enthralled with the beautiful photos.
Wrote to Montoso Gardens, and Bryan answered each email very promptly.
I placed an order for 3 heliconias, and my order was acknowledged rapidly, and I received another email from Bryan about a week later, when my rhizomes were shipped.
Amazingly, they arrived the NEXT DAY, fresh, green and ready to plant. They are in pots now, and I am eager to see them flourish. I look forward to ordering again from Montoso Gardens!!

I would encourage everyone to order something from him just to see the wonderful job he does of packaging the plants. Montoso Gardens is a model business run by a genius. April 29, 2007 | I ordered a Lychee tree. A Hak Ip variety. Plant came promptly and was in great condition. Two things I really like about this company:
1) They list the actual cultivar/variety of the plant/tree (I used to not care but now I'm particular about that sort of thing)
and
2) I find the prices very reasonable. Lychee trees are usually fairly expensive to purchase..I won't name names ;)
Definitely would order again.

Just got a mangosteen plant recently. It was small, but the root system was very healthy. Good communication and the shipping was prompt. Another good thing about Montoso is that they don't seem to post a about a plant for sale if they don't have it. I noticed they update their site to reflect this.

As others have said, it was packaged so creatively that you can assure that your plant will not just survive, but thrive in transit. There was some insect damage to the leaves. I ordered a cacao fruit which had 48 seeds in it (I counted ;-). Now we are going to have a little cacao orchard if they all sprout ;-). I also got a heliconia which had a little baby sucker already growing. |

I contacted Montoso Gardens about sending me some Cacao pods, as I live in the UK I was not sure if they would.
The reply was yes, I ordered, paid with pay pal and just over a week later my order arrived just as I asked.
I have planted the Cacao seeds but not sure if they will grow as it is so cold in the UK, I have a hard job meeting the tropical requirements at this time of the year.
I can recommend the service and when the weather is better I shall try again for some other seeds / fruit.

October 18, 2006 | The fruit seeds and cocoa seed pods I had ordered arrived very fresh (all of the Artocarpus camansi and half of the Theobroma grandiflora seeds were germinating when I received them and the others are very promising too). Heliconia rhizomes are also very healthy, were packed well. They show the signs of sprouting.
I recommend this company to everyone. |
