| Neutral | melnellie Omaha, NE (Zone 4b) (1 review) September 16, 2009 | The communication on this transaction could have been much, much better.....I heard nothing about a shipping delay until I emailed asking when I could expect my plants....the plants arrived today looking very stressed and shabby.....I will see what happens but will probably not buy from this seller again. On September 19th, 2009, melnellie added the following:
I guess a short email letting me know when I could have expected my plants would have been too much to ask for. I sell things on E-Bay and always let my winning bidders know when their item will be shipped. Maybe that is why my feedback rating is 100%. Is is my opinion that this transaction was not completely positive and thus the neutral rating. These plants looked very stressed, wilted and generally very mediocre. The photo showed a lovely plant in a gallon container and I received a cutting with a few roots wrapped in plastic wrap. Perhaps this is why I am less than excited with this entire transaction. Company representative comment on September 16, 2009: On Sep 16, 2009 7:41 PM, Katz Kuntry Kuttins responded with:There was a holiday that week. I apologize, I thought most people understood that it's always better to wait until the following week afterwards so there's "hold-over" with your plants.
As for stressed within 2 days it took to receive them, I don't understand because I have left those exact same kind of plants (accidentally) in my hot garage for 3 weeks bareroot and they were fine. They're in the cactus family. |

KuntryKuttins Pineville, LA (Zone 8b) (12 reviews) July 02, 2009 | Hey guys,
We're back! At this time of the year, our retail nursery is slow, so I have plenty of time for selling online again.
Our inventory and our web name is different, so please update the web link if I am in your favorites. It is now "www.katzkuntrykuttins.com".
Thanks,

| Negative | HD_in_Dallas Dallas, TX (1 review) June 27, 2009 | Short story: I placed my order for five 2-gallon plants ($75 + $15 shipping). In the mail I only received two 1-gallon (or smaller) plants. I was obviously disappointed.
I emailed the owner to explain the problem and got *no response*. A month later, I have emailed a second time to see if I can get a response - at this point I just want my money back.
I will provide further detail in a week and update this rating to positive or negative based on whether I get a response this time. On August 3rd, 2009, HD_in_Dallas changed the rating from neutral to negative and added the following:
This company is dishonest - don't be taken in by them!
I have now tried three times to get a response on the order I placed earlier this year, and I have not even received the courtesy of a reply. Do not trust Katz Kuntry Kuttins. They will take your money, ship you less than what you ordered, then ignore your requests for a shipment of the rest of your order or your money back. Company representative comment on September 16, 2009: On Sep 16, 2009 7:49 PM, Katz Kuntry Kuttins responded with:First of all, I don't sell 2 gallon plants (too large to ship).
As for the rest, there's a few people I just can't reason with. |
| Positive | Chills Saint Clair Shores, MI (Zone 6b) (17 reviews) June 17, 2009 | This makes 3 orders I have placed with Katz Kuntry Kuttins. Each of the orders have been for passiflora varieties (in fact I keep buying the same kinds over and over because I end up giving away the plants, or more appropriately my wife does). Each time the plants have been healthy and well packed. Shipping is reasonable (especially when more than one plant is ordered) and packaging is quite good. The flowers that have bloomed for me have been correct (though one has not yet bloomed for me, I have no doubt it will end up being right).
Definitely worthwhile if you are looking for small, very reasonably priced passiflora varieties!

| Positive | asprentz Lambertville, MI (1 review) June 03, 2009 | My plants arrived very healthy looking, they were boxed great, and ready to plant. I would definetly buy from katzkuntrykuttins again. Ordered on Friday, received Tuesday. Pretty quick ship. |
| Positive | donpedrogordo Mount Morris, NY (1 review) May 20, 2009 | Katz Kuntry Kuttins was still accessible on Ebay in May 2009 which is where I discovered it in my search for passiflora plants.
My order placed through Ebay using PayPal required an email to Kunry Kuttins to adjust the shipping rate for an order of more than one plant. Kathy responded very promptly with the adjustment expected --- her website indicated a reduced shipping for multiple plants but Ebay/PayPal did not initially transact that appropriately.
My plants arrived promptly, intact, looking good, of the size and quality I expected for the price paid, and arrived in less than one week from date my order was placed.

| Negative | garden63 Lincoln University, PA (2 reviews) May 15, 2009 | After waiting three weeks to receive a coral honeysuckle vine, it arrived dead due to poor packing. I was told the wait would be two to three weeks. I was outside doing garden work when the mailman delivered the package. I opened it immediately. I soaked the dried out root ball hoping for a miracle I guess. The owner sounds too busy to run a professional operation. On May 15th, 2009, garden63 added the following:
Still waiting for postage refund, it is not my fault the vine was wrapped in a 5 & 10 cheap plastic baggie. If there was a plant abuse hotline, I would report her:) Company representative comment on September 16, 2009: On Sep 16, 2009 8:00 PM, Katz Kuntry Kuttins responded with:I gave you a refund minus shipping costs on 5-08-09. And as for those "5 & 10 cheap plastic baggies", I go out of my way to get those specific ones because they wrap perfectly around the rootballs. You are the first person ever to report that they leaked. You told me in your email that the newspaper which wrapped the rootball was still wet.

| Positive | KuntryKuttins Pineville, LA (Zone 8b) (12 reviews) May 05, 2009 | To all of my past customers ... thanks for a great 7 years. I am not "going out of business", I am only closing my websites. I have a retail nursery that is keeping me busy 6 days a week and I was packaging plants on my off day. It was getting to be too much, so I had to stop the online business. My nursery is in Effie, LA if you ever want to visit.
For you guys who are freaking out because you have not received the plants you bought a week ago (such a long time!), rest assured, you will still get them. I wouldn't do that. You bought it, you will get it.
For you guys who left me negative feedback because it has been 2 weeks since you placed your order and you didn't read the email that I sent you that they had been shipped yesterday..... well, I will be nice :O)
Thanks again guys!
Kathy On June 25th, 2009, KuntryKuttins changed the rating from to positive and added the following:
Ok, guys, I'm back :O) With our temps down here, business has slowed enough for me to start my website back up. I'm adding plants to my site as I get them. I also have some Cajun Hibiscus, but won't be selling them on my site for a while, but I have them on Ebay. Take a look at them, they are awesome.
Thanks,

| Neutral | PAMSPACE Temperanceville, VA (Zone 7a) (3 reviews) May 05, 2009 | On April 23, 2009, my friend ordered two Angel Trumpets from this company. They promptly debited her account but have yet to send her plants. The company went out of business sometime in April of this year, and cannot be reached. On May 6th, 2009, PAMSPACE changed the rating from negative to neutral and added the following:
Received several e-mails from Katz yesterday afternoon stating that she had e-mailed that the plants would be sent out Monday, the e-mail was never received and the phone number doesn't work. I am changing my rating based on Katz's prompt responses to my e-mail yesterday. Company representative comment on May 05, 2009: On May 5, 2009 9:18 PM, Katz Kuntry Kuttins responded with:Go back over your emails ... I sent you one Sunday telling you that I was sending them out Monday. It's only been 2 weeks dear, not 2 month. |
| Positive | nkda1819 Little Rock, AR (1 review) May 02, 2009 | I ordered two brugs and one passionflower vine. All three plants arrived quickly, well-packaged, and in healthy condition. Strong work. |
| Positive | worrier_queen Watervliet, MI (1 review) May 01, 2009 | I ordered 4 passiflora plants on eBay. They arrived well packed in 4" pots, damp bark medium, encased in plastic. All three are alive, but smaller than I expected. One plant was very loose in the medium and wilted. I watered all three and hope they will be fine. |
| Positive | femluc Elizabethton, TN (Zone 6b) (3 reviews) April 30, 2009 | I received a "whiskers" brugsmansia in great condition other than being a little tired from the trip from Louisiana to Tennessee. I was notified by email that it was on its way and received it within a few days. It is a large cutting with a large root ball and was expertly packaged in wet newspaper and tape for protection. It has been in a tall vase of water for a couple of hours and has already sprang to life. I look forward to planting and watching it grow its beautiful angel trumpet blooms. I would do business with this company again if given the opportunity. |
| Positive | reignflower Spring, TX (1 review) April 29, 2009 | My 1 gallon plant arrived within two days of shipping a little stressed but it bounced back within a day. Very pleased with Katz and hope they didn't go out of business as I read above. |
| Positive | webgal318 Edgewater, FL (1 review) April 29, 2009 | My Brug arrived 2 days after it was shipped and was in good shape considering the Florida climate. I am satisfied with the size of the root ball and stems. Thank you for the order.
Sorry to hear you are closed because I would order again. |
| Positive | husky004 Buffalo, NY (1 review) April 24, 2009 | Received two brugs and five passifloras, packaging was great no damage to the plants. Everything looks healthy. Kathy emailed me to let me know when delivery would take place. Would definitely recommend this nursery and will order from them again. |
| Positive | acecae Daleville, AL (1 review) April 22, 2009 | I love all 12 of the plants I purchased. Prices were great and was really surprised at how large the plants were. Would def. do business with again |
| Positive | krnfaulkner Hyde Park, MA (1 review) April 22, 2009 | Three plants arrived in great shape, wrapped in recycled newspaper. I'm very happy. The rooted brugmansia cutting is huge! |
| Negative | senjanevada Hi-desert, CA (1 review) April 22, 2009 | Poor service. No response to 2 e-mails concerning my order.
I ordered Aptenia Cordifolia 4" pot size for 3 pots. It cost $10 + $8 for shipping that actual postage was only $4.95.
What I received were starter size plants. I might say that these plants was as same the amount of one 4" pot size based on my previous purchased from other nursery.
I am unstisfied with the quality and quantity plants and also her "silent" customer service.
Company representative comment on September 16, 2009: On Sep 16, 2009 8:04 PM, Katz Kuntry Kuttins responded with:As for shipping, my shopping cart does not know the difference between ice plants, gallon size angel trumpets, etc., so I have to have a set price according to how many plants are bought.
You were aware of the plant price and the shipping price before you placed your order.

| Positive | MyJungle West Palm Beach, FL (1 review) March 23, 2009 | I have ordered plants twice from this seller. The plants were advertised as one-gallon plants and indeed they were that size and then some, only sent bare-root to make shipping costs more affordable. I could not be happier with this merchant's communication and the high quality of plant material received. I will definitely be buying from them again. Many, many thanks! |
| Positive | katliketheef Houston, TX (1 review) November 25, 2008 | I purchased the 10 unknown cuttings package off eBay on Nov. 1st, everything went smoothly, the payment, the shipping(very fast), and I am happy with my nicely rooting, healthy cuttings.
I am not happy with the communication(none whatsoever except to ask me to post a review here)...and I am not happy about not receiving my feedback on eBay yet. It makes me feel like I HAD to post a review here in order to get my feedback on eBay.
Other than that, everything is great. |

| Negative | BlissfulGarden Baton Rouge, LA (Zone 8b) (50 reviews) October 17, 2008 | In May 2007, I ordered 5 Yellow Jacobina plants from this vendor. The price with shipping was $28.00 for the five plants. They are located in Pineville, Louisiana, and I'm in Baton Rouge, so I did not need to opt for expedited shipping... all carriers only take a day for in-state shipping. My plants arrived with the soil still moist, and they did not look stressed from the trip. They did, however, have a fungus on all five plants. I doubt this could have happened during shipment as they were only in the box for a day! I emailed the vendor immediately, but I never received a reply. In the meantime, I planted the jacobina in a large pot (rather than risking putting them in the garden with my other plants), treated the plants with Funginex in hopes that they would pull through, and placed them far away from everything else. The plants did not make it, I never received a response from the vendor, and I will not order from them again. Overall, a very, very disappointing experience. Ev |
| Positive | adajorush New Freedom, PA (1 review) September 28, 2008 | plant arrived bareroot and packaged quite nicely. Justica was in good shape with two blooms. |
| Positive | squirrelbreath Hico, TX (1 review) September 24, 2008 | My order arrived in a very timely manner. The plants were in good shape. The box was full of ants, which seemed to come from the root ball of one of the plants. No problem: happy with the vendor and with the order! |
