I have heard from several people that this company is actually owned by Parkseed/Wayside Gardens. I believe it's true.

I ordered bareroot roses and an ornamental grass from this company in early spring, and all of their plants are doing well. The miscanthus I received was quick to establish and has looked good all season. The roses--Gruss an Aachen--fared better than my more established roses throughout a very wet late spring and early summer--no pests, no powdery mildew, virtually no black spot, and are in full bloom for the second time. Plants were well packaged and shipped promptly.

This was a very pleasant mail order experience. I ordered 2 clematis,2 astilbe and 2 pia hydrangeas. They were all packed very well and the prices were outstanding. Unfortunately, I can't vouch for the clematis as my dh thought they were 'something dead' and threw them away, but the other 4 plants are thriving and doing very well. I will order from them again.

I ordered 4 roses and some creeping thyme from Krazy Keiths. Also ordered a very unusual Tamarix rosea (salt cedar).

I am amazed at the Tamarix---it is outstanding! All of the roses are showing new growth.

The Thyme, however, was almost dead when it arrived.

Over all---I am VERY pleased with this company and hope to do business with them again. I loved that they offered the Tamarix--it's not easy to find.
Maybe they will offer my next conquest: Hakuro Nishiki standard.

I placed a fairly small order with them, some seeds, some plants. They handled the orders, billed, and shipped them seperately, but all arrived VERY quickly.

Two of the plants were in great shape, one was a little anemic looking, but once it was watered and planted has perked right up.

I would definately order from them again!

I bought a dozen bareroot roses from them. They were incredibly cheap, and so far very robust. I'm terrible about planting things on time, and the bushes literally sat in the box for a week, then in buckets of water for 2 weeks. You would think they would have all died, but all of them were climbing roses and they are already a couple of feet tall and have blooms of them. Between the fact they are so cheap and so far seem impossible to kill I would definitely buy from them again. :)

I ordered The Fairy rose from Krazy Keith's Garden Shed. It was a healthy, well packaged rose. I too, suspect they are affiliated with Park's and Wayside Gardens. Same number on rose, packaging, and even the pictures and sale prices that Park's and Wayside Gardens had earlier in the month. (ordered The Fariy rose from Wayside Gardens earlier this spring.)

I ordered two roses, an ornamental grass and a perennial on a whim last Sunday. They arrived mid-week, well-packaged and in good shape. A little nervous about getting bare-root roses out this late, but I really wanted to replace some that didn't make it through last winter, so I took the chance.

I don't know exactly how this company is related to Park's and Wayside Gardens, but if the box and packaging didn't give a big enough hint, the identical product numbers on the same items was a dead giveaway.

Ordered 5 knockout rose bushes bare root. They arrived within a week and were hugh. Packing was great no broken canes moist and ready to soak. They have been in the ground about a month now and all are full of new growth. I will order again and again.

I am a rose fanatic - adding new plants each year. Generally I go to the "big guys" & spend big bugs for "hybrid" plants. This year I took a chance on K.K. & ordered 1 rose bush @ $5.95 & ordered many from the others @ way more $. Both arrived within 1 day, both went in the ground at the same time. K.K. rose spiraled to the top of the trelis & is FILLED with blooms - you guessed it, the others are barely leafed out - so I guess I will be a returning customer of K.K. & save some $ to boot!

This is the second year I've been ordering from Krazy Keith's. I initially ordered from them because the prices were unbelievably low compared to the mail order catalogs and they carried a lot of the named varieties of the plants I had been looking for.
When my plants arrived (very quickly, too!), I was pleasantly surprised to find them packaged very nicely, and in much better shape and size than I am accustomed to from ordering through the Internet.
I've already ordered 4 times from them this season. They keep adding new plants to their site, and it always seems to be that plant I have been eyeing on other sites or catalogs, and the price is usually half as much at Krazy Keith's, so I can't pass it up.
For the first time, in my last order, one of the bareroot plants was not up to par and arrived in poor condition. I emailed their site and informed them of the unsatisfactory plant material. They replied the next day, politely apologized for the inconvenience and informed me that (as stated in their guaranty) they would send out a better replacement immediatelyand at no cost to me. In a couple of days the replacement plant arrived and it was larger and in perfect condition.
Krazy Keith's Garden Shed is the first place I look for plants. If they don't have the particular plant I'm looking for, I'll get it elsewhere, but I'll wait until the end of season 50% off sale. Krazy Keith's has really spoiled me and I hate having to pay full price for plants now.

krazykeith sent my bare root roses and clematis in 7 days and they looked nice. They do not send e-mail to announce shipment unless you write or call but as far as I`m concerned the shipment is sitting on my front porch before I have time to wonder when the shipment will arrive.

There is a risk involved when plants are shipped late in spring because of the heat. They can get fried and rotted closed up in a moist box exposed to heat. This didn`t happen to the bare roots from krazy keith in fact they appeared to have sprouted in the box and were very fresh and green.

They do need protection from the blazing sun for the first few weeks being planted this late but these have hardened up and sending out leaves and shoots within a week of planting. The roots have a nice fan shape instead of being crammed in a tube shape and very puny like the Wal Mart bare roots I have nursed back to health. The root system on the clematis is very nice and healthy and the little snub of sprout greens up and takes off fast. The root system is the plant. When you see nice big healthy roots like on these clematis and bare root roses I have recieved then you got a good plant. IMHO

I compared cane size to a 16 dollar potted rose I bought from Wal Mart and 5 something dollar kk bare root rose is the same size or bigger plus the spread of the roots is way more than what is allowed by a pot.

I got tired of waiting on Michigan bulb and decided to try out krazy keiths hydrangeas and the bi-color caladiums. I`ll come back and give you the scoop on that later. :)

So Far Very good!
On June 9th, 2005, gardener2005 added the following:

The hydrangeas got damaged during transit. The hydrangeas are more tender and they got broken and kind of mangled plus there was a small slug eating one of them. I`m going to alert kk of the slug dilema but the hydrangeas look like they will grow and I want to get them started. The slugs are something I can deal with and always have to anyway. The roses I got looked great as usual.

The caladium was fine. I plan on ordering from them in the future just maybe not the hydrangeas.
On June 10th, 2005, gardener2005 added the following:

I wrote in and have replacement hydrangea on the way right now. I definitely will continue ordering from them in the future. If there is a problem they fix it right away. Very good.
On June 21st, 2005, gardener2005 added the following:

I decided to add one last commentary after recieving the promptly delivered replacement hydrangeas. They look like they will do fine. I got a good chunk of bare root astilbe to add to my shade garden and it looks like I could divide it in two and one of the roses( a climbing New Dawn )was Huge and the other two very nice as usual. Some of the previous roses I ordered a month or so ago are very vigorously taking off with lots of shoots and one has tiny rose buds all over it. I`m a happy customer and will return anytime I want to add to my collection of plants. :)

WOW! This was a great experience! I ordered 2 rose plants from this company, and they arrived quickly, and in wonderful condition! I couldn't plant them right away, but KKGS packed them (bareroot) so well, I just placed some wet paper towels over the roots, and put them back in the box. I opened the box a week later, and buds were popping out all over the place. They are in the ground, and growing great! Next year I will be ordering from KKGS again! Thanks!!!

I just rec'd my order today from KK and like everyone else, I ordered based on feedback and pricing. I ordered 2 bare root roses that came packed nicely, but one was very dinky. It has one bud of growth on one cane. The other was very large but the canes appeared slightly shriveled and dead on the cane tips. No new growth to be seen on this one.

I've got them soaking now and will plant them tomorrow. If they live, I'll change my opinion, but my first impression is I got what I paid for. I hope I'm wrong.
On June 23rd, 2005, Gardengirl1204 changed the rating from neutral to positive and added the following:

So my original comment was neutral but I am changing that to positive due to my experience working with them. When I rec'd my original order, one of the roses looked real bad. Well, I soaked and planted it and gave it 2 wks and it was dead.

I called KK and told them and they were like "no problem". At first they were just going to refund my money because she said they were'nt shipping roses anymore. But then she checked and they showed available so she sent me a new one. I am happy to say this one has taken off - even in the heat of summer - and is doing great.

AAA+++ for customer service!

I hate to be the first one to give Krazy Keith a negative rating, but after receiving my order I would not purchase from them again. We ordered several items from them, mainly because of their prices and good feedback from the Watchdog.
The packaging was the best, was surprised to receive them from my mail carrier and not UPS as most plant orders arrive. The sedum was moldy, one of the 2 butterfly bushes was perforated with what appears to be insect damage, the dwarf banana was of decent size but a third of the leaves were badly damaged.
The bare root rose and canna were in very good shape and a bargain for what we paid for them. But, I certainly would not take the chance with them a second time no matter how good the prices are.
On June 2nd, 2005, alicewho changed the rating from negative to neutral and added the following:

Okay, I had to change my negative rating to neutral. The damaged plants I received from them have responded to a little TLC and have rebounded.
I'd probably try them again.

I ordered 4 bareroot roses, and I am extremely pleased with them. All packaged with great care, arrived moist and with no damage. Three of these were big, one of them was HUGE. All are growing beautifully. Needless to say, I visit the website regularly to see if any new roses are added. Highly recommended.

Last night I received all but one item from my first order with Krazy Keith's, whom I ordered from due to the positive feedback on this forum. Obviously, I cannot tell you a lot about this company at this point, but the packing was extemely well done, and the bi-color butterfly bush was of good size for mail order and even had straw mulch rubber banded around the plant, nice touch and effective. The bare root Aster looks to be large and was wrapped in straw and bound with plastic wrap, very secure. I will update this posting as I observe how the plants perform, but so far so good.

My sons ordered me 3 of Krazy Keith's roses for Mother's Day. It was our first experience with ordering rose's online and so took a chance with them since they had such LOW prices. I recieved Pretty Lady, Terra Cotta and Hot Cocoa and the bareroot roses were GREAT. Soaked them for 24 hours and couldn't believe the new growth that just seemed to POP out of them. Packaging was great too...no broken canes and snug in the box so they couldn't be tossed around in it.
Will order from them again, without hesitation.

After reading the experiences of others I have decided to give them a try. I do want people to know that the product numbers for their roses are the same as Wayside. Since I am planning on buying roses I went to check out Wayside on Garden Watchdog. They have a terrible rating but the good things that people say about them are about the roses they sell. By the way, the roses are a lot cheaper at Krazy Keith's than they are at Wayside. I wonder from whom the roses really come from and why the difference in price....

I can't believe the size of the plant, the cost and the way the plant was packed for shipping!

I ordered a large bicolored butterfly bush as I had really wanted one but really didn't want to nurse along a 3" pot. The plant that arrived today was in a 1 gallon container. It was about 2 feet tall and a rather hefty plant that was in beautiful shape. No broken branches and no piles of leaves on the bottom of the box, That plant couldn't have moved if it want to.

The prices at Krazy Keith's are exceptional and the plants are healthy. I've already placed a second order and I haven't even looked at the roses.

I will be back!

Big bare root roses for $5.95. Yes, you read right. They arrived barely breaking dormancy, which is ok since that means no new growth breakage rattling around in the box while in transit. I have no complaints, although some one brought it to my attention that their item numbers were identical to Wayside's, and there was some speculation that they are owned by Wayside, but I cannot confirm or deny this. I just know I was happy with the roses I ordered, and hope that they do well in my garden.

Just received my spring order and everything was very healthy and larger than expected. I ordered quite a bit last year and this, as we are landscaping our new home. I have had to use their guarantee on more than one occasion and was very satisfied with the customer service and the quick resolution, whether it was a refund or replacement. I am especially happy with the bareroot roses I received last year. I bought 10 and 8 did nicely, blooming the first year. This year they are as big as the roses I bought at the nursery and healthier at half the price and bursting with buds. Happy gardening!!

In late April of '04, I ordered seven snow queen oakleaf hydrangea from Krazy Keith's. I received an email letting me know when they were shipped and when I could expect them. I received very healthy, good-sized plants that were packed exceptionally well. I am happy to say that although I didn't get much growth this first year (and didn't expect to), they are thriving and look great through their first winter. I will definitely purchase from this company in the future.

I ordered seeds, bareroot roses (on their end of season half price sale) a hydrangea and some tricyrtis from Krazy Keith's. It arrived amazingly fast - a few days for the seeds and about a week for the live plants. The roses were HUGE and all the seeds have germinated already (they are not commercial seed packets). The hydrangea was in a four inch pot and after being potted up is growing so fast and strong after a few days that I can practically see it growing. I've ordered several hundred dollars of plants from various internet companies this spring and Krazy Keith's was the fastest delivery with the largest plants. I am very happy with them and will definitely use them again.

Large healthy plants shipped promptly at very reasonable prices. What more can you ask for?
On September 14th, 2004, fpgill changed the rating from positive to neutral and added the following:

Well my first order in the spring was great (see comment above) But I placed a large order August 21 - all plants were listed as available on the website, all listed as available in my order confirmation. September 13 I received an email abruptly cancelling one of the plants - Echinacea Orange Meadowbrite, the reason I had placed the order in the first place. No reason was given. When I pressed them for details they told me there was a 'crop failure'. Crop failure in mid-September? Wouldn't you already know by August if there was a crop failure? Makes no sense whatsoever.

I feel I'm getting the runaround from them, so I cancelled the whole order. Wish they had told me it would be shipped at a later date, or even promised spring shipping, but to list it as available and then just cancel weeks later - not good customer service.

I admit I was a little leery of ordering from this company...it was new and I hadn't heard of it, the prices were unbelieveably low for 'name' roses, and not being a fan of 'folksy' and just a generally cranky person, the 'humor' was more annoying than entertaining for me...
So I took a chance......
OH MY GOSH WHAT BEAUTIFUL PLANTS!!!!! Probably some of the NICEST bare-root roses I have EVER purchased!!!!!! I paid less (even figuring in shipping/handling-which was actually very reasonable) for TOP QUALITY, NAME roses than I would for un-named 'bargain bag' roses at the local DIY store!!!!
I am trying to find MORE room in my yard to justify buying MORE ROSES from Krazy Keith's Garden Shed!!!!
If you want FANTASTIC, NAME (especially David Austin) ROSES that are HEALTHY and ENORMOUS---this is THE place to get them--especially at the incredible prices!!!
WONDERFUL-WONDERFUL Surprise!!!! WONDERFUL-WONDERFUL Roses!!!!!!!!!
On June 7th, 2005, belle_michele added the following:

Let's see...another year and three more orders to Krazy Keiths...does that tell you something?

All of the roses ordered last year made it through our typically brutal Minnesota winters! I ordered a few more (like I really NEED more roses ha-ha!) and as last year, received enormouse bare root plants with big, healthy roots. They took off immediately after being planted and are already budding and getting ready to bloom!

The size of the plants received were for the most part, amazingly large! It's almost scary how quickly the barefoot plants start springing to life and leafing out (I'm so used to other bare root plants where it's a waiting game and a gamble, will they, or won't they do anything). Every bare root plant I have is growing like mad!

Will I be ordering again from Krazy Keiths next year? You BETCHA !!!!!

Would I recommend Krazy Keith's? You BETCHA !

Personally, between the prices, the quality of the plants and the outstanding customer service, I think you have to be 'Krazy' NOT to buy from Krazy Keiths !

I stumbled across their website and was quite impressed. Laid back, cute, funny, informative. I decided to place a small order. I never received an email confirmation, which others had said that they had received one. I emailed them and was promptly told it was just shipped; response time was just under a half hour! The Clethra was bigger than expected, very little green, and I'm assuming it's breaking dormancy. The Shasta Daisy was also larger than I expected, but rootbound. The Shortwood Phlox was supposed to be in a 3" pot; it arrived bare root and shrinkwrapped. All in all, I'm not upset and not thrilled, therefore giving it a neutral. I can say that I will more than likely visit their site again in the future.
On June 27th, 2004, flamingonut changed the rating from neutral to positive and added the following:

The clethra began sprouting green within 2 weeks and looks wonderful. The Shasta Daisy is currently blooming and gorgeous, and although the Phlox never sprouted, I emailed them and they did send a replacement at no additional cost.
