Plants were well packaged and shipped promptly. | | Positive | butterqueen (2 reviews) | On July 11, 2005, butterqueen Kernersville, NC (Zone 7a) wrote:This was a very pleasant mail order experience. I ordered 2 clematis,2 astilbe and 2 pia hydrangeas. They were all packed very well and the prices were outstanding. Unfortunately, I can't vouch for the clematis as my dh thought they were 'something dead' and threw them away, but the other 4 plants are thriving and doing very well. I will order from them again. | | Positive | MacLaren (2 reviews) | On July 7, 2005, MacLaren Gadsden, AL (Zone 7b) wrote:I ordered 4 roses and some creeping thyme from Krazy Keiths. I am amazed at the Tamarix---it is outstanding! All of the roses are showing new growth.
The Thyme, however, was almost dead when it arrived.
Over all---I am VERY pleased with this company and hope to do business with them again. I loved that they offered the Tamarix--it's not easy to find.
Maybe they will offer my next conquest: Hakuro Nishiki standard.

Two of the plants were in great shape, one was a little anemic looking, but once it was watered and planted has perked right up.
I would definately order from them again! | | Positive | cathy97 (11 reviews) | On June 28, 2005, cathy97 Whitney, TX wrote: The plants were shipped quickly, the packing was great, nice roots and nice sized plants and the prices for the plants and shipping were excellent. They were incredibly cheap, and so far very robust. I'm terrible about planting things on time, and the bushes literally sat in the box for a week, then in buckets of water for 2 weeks. You would think they would have all died, but all of them were climbing roses and they are already a couple of feet tall and have blooms of them. Between the fact they are so cheap and so far seem impossible to kill I would definitely buy from them again. :) | | Positive | 75751 (39 reviews) | On June 20, 2005, 75751 Fort Mill, SC (Zone 7b) wrote:I ordered The Fairy rose from Krazy Keith's Garden Shed. A little nervous about getting bare-root roses out this late, but I really wanted to replace some that didn't make it through last winter, so I took the chance.
I don't know exactly how this company is related to Park's and Wayside Gardens, but if the box and packaging didn't give a big enough hint, the identical product numbers on the same items was a dead giveaway. | | Positive | old_rose (1 review) | On June 15, 2005, old_rose Bay City, MI (Zone 6a) wrote:Ordered 5 knockout rose bushes bare root. Both arrived within 1 day, both went in the ground at the same time. K.K. rose spiraled to the top of the trelis & is FILLED with blooms - you guessed it, the others are barely leafed out - so I guess I will be a returning customer of K.K. & save some $ to boot! | | Positive | celyvabeach (10 reviews) | On June 11, 2005, celyvabeach Virginia Beach, VA wrote: Ordered 6 Geranium Rozanne this past Monday and received my healthy plants today. I initially ordered from them because the prices were unbelievably low compared to the mail order catalogs and they carried a lot of the named varieties of the plants I had been looking for.
When my plants arrived (very quickly, too!), I was pleasantly surprised to find them packaged very nicely, and in much better shape and size than I am accustomed to from ordering through the Internet.
I've already ordered 4 times from them this season. They keep adding new plants to their site, and it always seems to be that plant I have been eyeing on other sites or catalogs, and the price is usually half as much at Krazy Keith's, so I can't pass it up.
For the first time, in my last order, one of the bareroot plants was not up to par and arrived in poor condition. I emailed their site and informed them of the unsatisfactory plant material. They replied the next day, politely apologized for the inconvenience and informed me that (as stated in their guaranty) they would send out a better replacement immediatelyand at no cost to me. In a couple of days the replacement plant arrived and it was larger and in perfect condition.
Krazy Keith's Garden Shed is the first place I look for plants. If they don't have the particular plant I'm looking for, I'll get it elsewhere, but I'll wait until the end of season 50% off sale. Krazy Keith's has really spoiled me and I hate having to pay full price for plants now. | | Positive | gardener2005 (7 reviews) | On June 2, 2005, gardener2005 Baton Rouge area, LA (Zone 8b) wrote:krazykeith sent my bare root roses and clematis in 7 days and they looked nice. They do not send e-mail to announce shipment unless you write or call but as far as I`m concerned the shipment is sitting on my front porch before I have time to wonder when the shipment will arrive.
There is a risk involved when plants are shipped late in spring because of the heat. They can get fried and rotted closed up in a moist box exposed to heat. This didn`t happen to the bare roots from krazy keith in fact they appeared to have sprouted in the box and were very fresh and green.
They do need protection from the blazing sun for the first few weeks being planted this late but these have hardened up and sending out leaves and shoots within a week of planting. The roots have a nice fan shape instead of being crammed in a tube shape and very puny like the Wal Mart bare roots I have nursed back to health. The root system on the clematis is very nice and healthy and the little snub of sprout greens up and takes off fast. The root system is the plant. When you see nice big healthy roots like on these clematis and bare root roses I have recieved then you got a good plant. IMHO
I compared cane size to a 16 dollar potted rose I bought from Wal Mart and 5 something dollar kk bare root rose is the same size or bigger plus the spread of the roots is way more than what is allowed by a pot.
I got tired of waiting on Michigan bulb and decided to try out krazy keiths hydrangeas and the bi-color caladiums. I`ll come back and give you the scoop on that later. :)
So Far Very good! On June 9th, 2005, gardener2005 added the following:
The hydrangeas got damaged during transit. The hydrangeas are more tender and they got broken and kind of mangled plus there was a small slug eating one of them. I`m going to alert kk of the slug dilema but the hydrangeas look like they will grow and I want to get them started. The slugs are something I can deal with and always have to anyway. The roses I got looked great as usual.
The caladium was fine. I plan on ordering from them in the future just maybe not the hydrangeas. On June 10th, 2005, gardener2005 added the following:
I wrote in and have replacement hydrangea on the way right now. I definitely will continue ordering from them in the future. If there is a problem they fix it right away. Very good. On June 21st, 2005, gardener2005 added the following:
I decided to add one last commentary after recieving the promptly delivered replacement hydrangeas. They look like they will do fine. I got a good chunk of bare root astilbe to add to my shade garden and it looks like I could divide it in two and one of the roses( a climbing New Dawn )was Huge and the other two very nice as usual. Some of the previous roses I ordered a month or so ago are very vigorously taking off with lots of shoots and one has tiny rose buds all over it. I`m a happy customer and will return anytime I want to add to my collection of plants. :) | | Positive | immykidzzmom (2 reviews) | On June 1, 2005, immykidzzmom Columbus, MI wrote: WOW! This was a great experience! I ordered 2 rose plants from this company, and they arrived quickly, and in wonderful condition! I opened the box a week later, and buds were popping out all over the place. They are in the ground, and growing great! Next year I will be ordering from KKGS again! I ordered 2 bare root roses that came packed nicely, but one was very dinky. It has one bud of growth on one cane. The other was very large but the canes appeared slightly shriveled and dead on the cane tips. No new growth to be seen on this one.
I've got them soaking now and will plant them tomorrow. If they live, I'll change my opinion, but my first impression is I got what I paid for. I hope I'm wrong. On June 23rd, 2005, Gardengirl1204 changed the rating from neutral to positive and added the following:
So my original comment was neutral but I am changing that to positive due to my experience working with them. When I rec\'d my original order, one of the roses looked real bad. Well, I soaked and planted it and gave it 2 wks and it was dead.
I called KK and told them and they were like \"no problem\". At first they were just going to refund my money because she said they were\'nt shipping roses anymore. But then she checked and they showed available so she sent me a new one. I am happy to say this one has taken off - even in the heat of summer - and is doing great.

We ordered several items from them, mainly because of their prices and good feedback from the Watchdog.
The packaging was the best, was surprised to receive them from my mail carrier and not UPS as most plant orders arrive. The sedum was moldy, one of the 2 butterfly bushes was perforated with what appears to be insect damage, the dwarf banana was of decent size but a third of the leaves were badly damaged.
The bare root rose and canna were in very good shape and a bargain for what we paid for them. But, I certainly would not take the chance with them a second time no matter how good the prices are. On June 2nd, 2005, alicewho changed the rating from negative to neutral and added the following:
Okay, I had to change my negative rating to neutral. The damaged plants I received from them have responded to a little TLC and have rebounded.

Obviously, I cannot tell you a lot about this company at this point, but the packing was extemely well done, and the bi-color butterfly bush was of good size for mail order and even had straw mulch rubber banded around the plant, nice touch and effective. The bare root Aster looks to be large and was wrapped in straw and bound with plastic wrap, very secure. I ordered a large bicolored butterfly bush as I had really wanted one but really didn't want to nurse along a 3" pot. The plant that arrived today was in a 1 gallon container. It was about 2 feet tall and a rather hefty plant that was in beautiful shape. No broken branches and no piles of leaves on the bottom of the box, That plant couldn't have moved if it want to.
The prices at Krazy Keith's are exceptional and the plants are healthy. I've already placed a second order and I haven't even looked at the roses.
I will be back!

September 13 I received an email abruptly cancelling one of the plants - Echinacea Orange Meadowbrite, the reason I had placed the order in the first place. No reason was given. OH MY GOSH WHAT BEAUTIFUL PLANTS!!!!! Probably some of the NICEST bare-root roses I have EVER purchased!!!!!! I paid less (even figuring in shipping/handling-which was actually very reasonable) for TOP QUALITY, NAME roses than I would for un-named 'bargain bag' roses at the local DIY store!!!!
I am trying to find MORE room in my yard to justify buying MORE ROSES from Krazy Keith's Garden Shed!!!!
If you want FANTASTIC, NAME (especially David Austin) ROSES that are HEALTHY and ENORMOUS---this is THE place to get them--especially at the incredible prices!!!

Let\'s see...another year and three more orders to Krazy Keiths...does that tell you something?
All of the roses ordered last year made it through our typically brutal Minnesota winters! I ordered a few more (like I really NEED more roses ha-ha!) and as last year, received enormouse bare root plants with big, healthy roots. They took off immediately after being planted and are already budding and getting ready to bloom!
The size of the plants received were for the most part, amazingly large! It\'s almost scary how quickly the barefoot plants start springing to life and leafing out (I\'m so used to other bare root plants where it\'s a waiting game and a gamble, will they, or won\'t they do anything). Every bare root plant I have is growing like mad!
Will I be ordering again from Krazy Keiths next year? You BETCHA !!!!!
