These people really deserve a place of Honor on the list !
We have dealt with them for years now, and NEVER a disappointment with their service or products. Wonderful selection of quality merchandise!

I ordered for the first time from Lilypons for a container water garden. As I am new to water gardening, I tried to reach them multiple times to ask about the order and care of the plants. I sent 2 emails over the course of several weeks, for which I never received a response. I tried to call on 2 separate occassions, during business hours, and received their answering service. I am disapointed with the lack of customer service, especially the lack of response to my emails.

On March 24th, 2004, lmtsher changed the rating from negative to positive and added the following:

Lilypons immediately contacted me after receiving my negative comment and seemed geniunely concerned about my experience. They gave me very detailed info in response to my original inquiries, and as a gesture of good will included free fertilizer and discount toward future purchases. While I was initially concerned about their customer service, I feel that they did go the extra mile to try to rectify the situation and make sure I didn't walk away unhappy. I feel this type of effort goes a long way toward customer satisfaction.

We have had a very good experience with Lilypons. Our order was prompt, complete and in excellent condition. Horsetail Rush is now 2 feet tall and the Creeping Jenny has grown so well that our fish now have ample protection from the sun and preditors. Thanks to Lilypons for some wonderful products!

Plants which I ordered from these folks arrived promptly and in good shape. A neighbor received what he had ordered but had some unfounded complaint, so they sent another one unquestioningly.

This year I became interested in container water gardening. I ordered from Lilypons as well as 2 others (in one case the plants were part of a package). Of the 3 I am most satisfied with those from Lilypons. The plants were nicely rooted and of proper size for the time of year they shipped (little or no growth) and their survival has been excellent. My one goof was with the mini cattail, which I managed to kill.

I've ordered both plants & accessories in the past. I got a batch of dead pond snails with one order and they immediately replaced them when I called. Overall, I’ve been pleased with the service and products. Be leery of ordering through the website. A sales rep told me it wasn’t a secure server and safer to order by phone.

I have ordered from Lilypons on 2 occasions and have been very pleased with both the condition of plants and the way they performed. The 2 lotuses that I ordered, (and was told by several people they would not do well in my south Florida humidity) grew at an unbelievable rate. About 3 weeks into the blooming time I had blossoms over 14 inches across and was the envy of all those ne'er-do-well soothsayers. The only problem I experienced was with the Bull frog tadpoles. They grew up and moved away!! I hear them every night in the large canal behind my property, but they just won't come home.

I have ordered several supplies form Lilypons and have always got top rate service. Only twice has my item been back-ordered and I always received it within 5 or 6 days after. The lily is doing better than any I got from a local nursery and I will order from them in the future. I highly recommend them.

I have been ordering from Lilypons for over 6 years. I have ordered clams, snails, water plant ferns for underwater cleaning and hardy lilies. All have been tremendous. Several things died but were replaced immediately by friendly, apologetic staff. The replacements arrived promptly. They stood behind their guarantee 100%. I moved to another house and purchased three more hardy lilies and they were good to me with them too. I even ordered a patio pond for my parents to have in their house. I can't say enough about them and their koi food is inexpensive in comparison to retail fish stores. I will always use them. I would advise others to use them, too!

The Lilypons grounds in Maryland are beautiful, with about 50 ponds each filled with a different waterlily or lotus. You can count on seeing lots of birds, especially great blue herons. Lilypons sponsors several Festivals each summer, which are really worth making an effort to attend…

I have ordered from them and had difficulty all year. Everything I have ordered this year has been on back order and has taken 6 to 8 weeks to receive. I ordered one plant Golden Club that arrived as mush and then about 4 weeks later finally got a plant from them.

We haven't ordered from Lilypons Water Gardens by mail, but we purchased a number of plants (and supplies) in person. The plants are doing wonderfully, and the advice that we received was first rate. They are also very nice people, very helpful, patient with beginners, etc. I recommend them to anyone interested in water gardening.

I've ordered from Lilypons only once since starting my pond (that's all I've needed to!) and I really liked what I received. My lily is blooming like it should be, my bottom dwelling plants are multiplying like mad, and my other plants are also doing well. Two of my plants didn't do much of anything, but when I called, they immediately sent replacements. I would order from them again if I have to in the future!

I was born and raised near Lilypons Maryland. Now I have a large pond in my yard. Professor Thomas, (a frontrunner in developing hybrid water lilies) was the founder of this site and his family has had it for many years. The products are wonderful and you are greeted on the phone and onsite by very knowledgeable personnel. It is a pleasure doing business there.

I have been to the Lilypons in Texas and have found them to be very knowledgeable, with lots of advice. I would recommend them highly. They have a wide range of products that are very useful for your pond. They have a very good selection of fish on site.

Their catalog contains everything you need to start/maintain your water garden. The locations in MD and Texas are available to visitors through 10/31, and from what I heard from friends, have beautiful garden ponds. They also have a Koi Festival toward the end of September.
