From a note on their website, as of 9/2006:

I would like to thank all of our online customers for there patronage and support. After much consideration, we have decided to discontinue our online shipping. We will still maintain our retail site at the Raleigh Farmer's Market.

My first experience with Earthworks this spring was extremely positive. Everything I ordered was vigorous, packed well and larger than expected and all are now taking off in my garden.

I got several emails letting me know the status of my order and also got another asking me to let them know if all arrived safely as they wanted to be sure I was satisfied. Top notch!

I will DEFINITELY be buying from them again this fall...I only wish I had ordered more from them in the first place, but when ordering from somewhere you never ordered from before, you just have no idea whether the experience will be a good one or a regrettable and pricey mistake.

Another plus: their packing method did not take me an hour to unwrap or drive me to insanity---just a few minutes from box to garden which is always a big plus!

Was very pleased with shipment received from them. All 7 plants were good size with really terrific root systems and are growing really well.

Service was quick and I was kept well informed by Email regarding shipment.

I hope they resume retail shipment this fall since I would like to place another order with them. I found them excellent in all respects.

Great company.
I ordered 3 aucuba japonica which I received very fast, packed perfectly, healthy plants. I didn't plant them for several days and they were still moist.
I had emailed customer service with a question and they responded immediately.
Would absolutely order again!!

I have now ordered from Earthworks four or five times and they are on my gold list. All their offerings are one gallon but they are large, healthy and vigorous. The packing is excellent - I have never received a dry or broken plant. My Spring order was over 50 plants and every single one was perfect. The process is friendly and efficient and the customer service cannot be exceeded. As the Scarecrow would say - this one's a no-brainer.

Ordered gardenias from Earthworks and am very pleased with my experience. They promptly sent emails to let me know that status of my order and sent the items very quickly. Shipping was very resonable and the plants were a great price. The plants look very healthy and they sent nice planting insructions.

Will definately order from Earthworks again.

I ordered perennials from EarthWorks - very pleased. They responded promptly by email. Send me a reminder of shipment - and the product was great. Nice plants with roots and soil wrapped in newspaper and plastic wrap.

I will order again.

Shipping price was great but I am within the state.

I ordered 10 plants from this nursery and the same day placed orders from 2 other nurseries. Earthworks shipped SUPER fast, in great shape, love the plants. I had a problem with one plant, e-mailed them, and they shipped a free replacement even before I received my original shipments from the other nurseries!

The customer service is terrific! They respond almost before I finish typing the e-mail. I will definitely order from Earthworks again!!!

Purchased a variety of flowering shrubs via Earthworks website. Plants arrived in 3 days, very well-packed and labeled, nicely sized with strong root systems. They even included an extra shrub free! Will order again, highly recommended.

I bought 5 plants from Earthworks on ebay. I arranged to pick them up in North Carolina at the Raleigh Farmer's Market because I would be in that area in a couple of weeks. They were very responsive and accomodating. Their employees at the Market were helpful and the plants were even better than described. They are doing well here in zone 8 and I am totally pleased with my experience. They also have a very nice booth at the Farmer's Market with healthy plants. I would definately buy again. Prices also very competitive.

Last fall I ordered four shrubs from Earthworks; they arrived looking great and are doing very well here in Zone 6. I just received my second order from Earthworks (about 30 plants). Each plant looks fabulous. I am just delighted - overjoyed! I am a novice, urban gardener and wasted money last year by ordering from the wrong companies. This company is a 10 - offering high quality plants, very affordable pricing and shipping; and securing packaging.

I ordered 2 camellias through sale on ebay. I only gave a rating of Positive because there isn't a HIGHER rating catagory! The camellias I received were dark, shiny, green-black (the proper color for camellia foliage), incredibly healthy, and obviously packed with loving care. I received personal emails and the package included personalized instructions for the care of my new plants. Also, I purchased the 1st item on a Sunday and recvd it on the following Tuesday! Overall, I was very, very impressed. I will be a repeat customer for sure!

The first plant I purchased from EarthWorks was Camellia 'Rainbow'. The vigorous rootball, healthy leaves and numerous developing buds impressed me and I bought other plants.

Have never been disappointed by any EarthWorks plants and recommend them highly.

Great packaging, prompt delivery & good quality plants make me a happy gardener.

EarthWorks rates 3 stars on a scale of 1 to 3!
