I searched the internet for some parts needed to repair my lawn tractor. Outdoor Distributors had the best prices and the items I needed were in stock. I placed my order on a Wednesday. Then, I happened upon the reviews at Dave's Garden. I was a little worried but realized the negative reviews were from 3 years ago. On Friday I received an email stating my parts were being shipped by priority mail. I was able to follow the progress of the parts from the point of shipment until they reached my local post office. I received my items Monday. 5 days and the correct items. I would use Outdoor Distributors again.
Needing parts for two of my four garden tractors, I came across OutdoorDistributors.com as a possible source.
Their prices are sharp/highly competitive and they had some parts that were not available on the other company websites that I was considering ordering from.
However, I noted some negative comments on this and other sites dated in the initial stages of the recession (2008-2010).
Since I was ordering with my credit card, I figured that If my order didn't arrive or was screwed up, I was protected by the mandates of the credit card company. I needed the parts...I placed my order.
When I received my order, I found that what was received was different from what was advertised.
After making a phone call to the Paige the customer service manager and Bryan the general manager, it was determined that the product description was incorrect. To their credit, the mistake was fully corrected to my satisfaction ( I have found that when there is an error or a problem with a product or service that you are paying for, that you really find out how that supplier takes care of their customers.
OutdoorDistributors.com passed the" test" with honors. I will be ordering from this company, again, whenever the need arises
This "feedback" was not solicited in any way. I, simply, believe that the "good" should be told as well as the "bad".
I needed a part for the motor of my tiller and found outdoor distributers on an internet search. Before I made the purchase, I found this site while performing a review of their service search. Since I was short of time and since it was a Sunday night on a holiday weekend, I took a chance and ordered the part I needed. The part arrived at my home on Tuesday of the following week. I was amazed at how good the service was. I have since use this company again and so far, I am very pleased.

I first ordered from OUTDOOR DISTRIBUTORS 4 years ago, because they had the best price for my mower parts. Those parts arrived in 3 days, so last week I automatically bought from them again. Only later did I see the results of this Forum poll, so I became worried. After 6 days I inquired about the status of my order and in a short time they responded with a Tracking Number. The parts arrived later that day, and they were the correct parts. I will order from them again in the future. Perhaps OUTDOOR DISTRIBUTORS have turned the corner and corrected their problems.

I needed parts for an older Troybilt tiller and was about ready to haul it off, being unable to locate the parts locally. I called Outdoor Distributors and they walked me through where to find my model number, directed me to the online parts listing for my model and helped me identify the tines, starter thingie and wheel assembly I needed. I placed the order with them on a Monday and had received the parts by the following Monday. So grateful to have my tiller up and going again. Great folks, great prices! I will be doing business with them again.
My lawnmower was running rough, so I decided to give it the old fashioned tune-up. I found Outdoor Distributors on-line and used their parts lookup for my Briggs & Stratton engine. I needed a new air filter, spark plug, oil, and fuel filter. I ordered the parts and they were delivered to my home two days later. I installed the parts and my mower runs like new again. I am very happy with the service I received and will use Outdoor Distributors again when I need more lawnmower parts!

I ordered a part for my gas blower. The part was received as promised. Shipping time was to be 7 business days, but received in 5. No issues ordering off their web site. They will get my business again.
I called thIs company to order a part ( Out door Dist.) They said they had it in stock. I paid for the part; just under $100. They told me to wait 3 days, call them back For information when I would receive it. I did what they said. Now, not in stock, I have to wait, Call back again. Still no part. I said," I want a refund," I told them. Response was they would. Part was ordered Dec' 09; refund requested in Feb 2010,Still waiting Sept 20, 2010 . Alabama Atty. General and BBB was notified. Still waiting for refund. My advice to all of you, don't order anything from this company, if you don't want to be inconvenienced or / and ripped off. P.S. Got fed up, ordered my part and received in 7 days from Order Tree - no headaches, no hassles. PLE
Although they shipped my order promptly, I received the wrong part. There are two series of parts associated with my model number, but all the people at Outdoor Distributors I talked with kept saying was "it should work." The manager even said she spoke with the manufacturer and, again, stated "it should work." The two parts were very different. I even sent pictures comparing the two. I finally got the number for the manufacturer from them, called myself, and they immediately gave me the correct part number. I have my doubts about whether or not they truly spoke with the manufacturer. Outdoor distributors refused to cover shipping either way to return the item. I'm very disgusted with them.
I called Outdoor Dist. on May 7th, they quickly looked up the part I needed to repair my self propelled mower...a belt and spring assembly. The parts were under $15 and included shipping. Everywhere else I tried to find this part, they didn't have it or didnt have in stock. I did find it at place locally, but they wanted $25 for the kit. WELL BACK TO MY ORDER....I received my Items within a week (May13th), and was very happy with my experience with the folks at Outdoor Distributors. GREAT STORE!!!! ......I Will buy from them again!
I ordered 1 part for my shop to see if it compares with the distributers that I deal with. The price was the same as my other distributers,but the confirmation was fast so I thought I had another place to shop. I recieved my package in 4 days but instead of 1 part for $23 like my order had stated they sent me 5 of the same thing and charged my card for over $74. When I tried to call about the problem all phone lines are either busy or not working. If I ran my shop like they do I would be out of business in a week. In my opinion this is not a company to buy from. I would like to resolve this with them but they have not tried to contact me.
I tried calling after not receiving my merchandise after 10 business days. When I tried to call their customer service number, I always got a message that all circuits were busy (14 times over 3 days). So I checked Google, found this site and read the comments and figured I was done for. I then called their Sales #, and was told my order had a late item, it arrived just that day and would ship that night. Well, imagine my surprise when my order arrived 2 days later, complete! Additionally, my credit card was not charged until the following day AFTER I received my items. I am pleased with my transaction, but remain concerned that I had such difficulty getting through.
I had to sign up for this site just to add my comment on this non-business. Long and short of it is same as everyone else...placed order for about 300$ in mower parts...waited the suggested 7 business days...no contact, sent email...day 9 no contact (supplied phone 877 number does not work)sent email. After day 9s threat to cancel was told on day 10 parts on backorder from factory with release date. Day after release date called and was told no release date...told them to ship what they had (mentioned ON the order). Waited two more days...they called...missing a part they had in stock. Told them ship what they had....no contact since. Canceling order and will fight it out with Visa if I have to.

Wish I found this site prior to ordering. Placed order Sept 1 for $50 lawn mower parts. Credit card was charged the next day. After several weeks I called, and after being on hold for several minutes was told order would ship end of week. After a few more weeks of no delivery and no word I called again and told it was being drop shipped that week. A few weeks later still no parts and a call get the same treatment and told there were vendor issues and it will ship. If no delivery by end of week I will cancel & dispute charges.On March 8th, 2010, ssmith39 added the following:

Because of the way they jerked me around I knew it would be an uphill battle to get my refund. I immediately called my credit card company to let them know the situation and that I planned to dispute the charges if a refund was not issued in a timely manner.
After waiting 20 days I was not surprised to find no credit issued. I contacted the credit card provider again and lodged a dispute. I was notified a week or so ago that they have refunded all my $$ after investigating the dispute.

I too wish I had seen this site before ordering from Outdoor Distributors. Maybe if they would take care of business instead of running over beer cans with lawn mowers we wouldn't be doing this. Anyway, I paid with PayPal ($21.00) and filed a complaint with PayPal when I didn't receive my credit. PayPal followed up and issued a refund from Outdoor Distributors to my PayPal acct. However - the refund did not clear their bank and therefore PayPal suspended Outdoor Distributors account. I don't give up easy, so I filed a claim with the BBB as well. I also found Outdoor Distributors on Facebook, requested to be added to their "Friends" and then posted the question "Is Outdoor Distributors" still in business?" they replied yes still strong after 6 years. I then publicly responded with another question..." why won't you reply to my e-mails regarding non-shipment of product" I was given a phone number to call - That happens Dec 30th.
We will see what happens. I'm wondering if all the vendors on their web site know of their business practices.... Hmmmm might be worth looking into and enlightening the vendors.On December 30th, 2009, dumbdog added the following:
I contacted OD-D on Dec30th offering substitution for the items they did not ship. They no longer carry the product lines I asked for and haven't for sometime. I asked about the Paypal refund and was told someone else called this morning asking the same question. Then she offered to refund my order PLUS 20% once they get a new credit card processor. I asked why they still adevertise credit cards on their website, she pause then said the vendors process the cards directly when Items are ordered, they make no money of those sales. Yea right.
I contacted the AL attorney general - guess what, they know who outdoor distributors is and are familiar with them. I filed an on-line complaint. I think I will also contact the web host company and let them know about the practices.
I ordered parts for my mower. It was stated it could take a month. The month came and went with no parts. After calling about 10 times and months later I asked for a refund. I was told the parts were drop shipped, but never showed. I called again for a refund and was told 3-7 days. No refund, called again and was told 7-10 days. Guess what. no refund. Since There has been no communication from them I did send a bill which they never paid of course. Now I need to proceed with legal proceedures...
After 60 plus days I canceled two orders on 23 Sept. 2009. Two months later and a number of phone calls, I have yet to received a return. On 23 Nov. 2009, I filed a complant with the AL. BBB, still no return and the BBB has extended the time that they have to reply to the complant. Please save your time and money by going to another company

I placed an order for replacement MTD chipper blades which I paid through Pay Pal. I waited 68 days for them to arrive. The parts never arrived. In the mean time, I was lied too on several occasions. I was told the items would ship soon. I finally gave up after 68 days and canceled the order 10 days ago. I was promised a refund with in 10 days. No refund yet. I called today and was told Outdoor Distributor's Credit Card Processor froze their account and they have no access to credit (and Pay Pal). The young lady then told me to be patience as they are working on getting a new Processor. Once they get a new Processor they will refund my money plus 20%.
If you believe that, I have a bridge I can sell you. These guys are on the way out of business. I'll never see my $108 again. I wish I would have Google Outdoor Distributor before placing my order and found this website. Stay away from these guys!!!!!!
PS. I placed the same order through M and D Mower and received my parts in 4 days.

I placed an order for mower parts with Outdoor Distributors in early October. They were paid over $73 from my account on 10/08/09. I still have not received any parts. I have had to mow since then, so have ordered parts on two occasions since then from partstree.com. I received the parts next day from partstree.com and highly recommend them. They are in Austin, TX. I just wish I had googled Outdoor Distributors before placing that order and handing over the payment.

I ordered a starter for my snow blower in July, so I'd have plenty of time to get it installed before winter. Winter's here, starter is not. Was told it would drop ship from the factory in Sept, then Nov 17, and today was told Dec 1st. I did notice that all of the rare positive reviews were from local addresses to the company. I guess all those girls on the website have to have boyfriends/husbands/brothers somewhere.

I ordered two wheels for my lawn mower. The wheels I received had the number that the website showed as being the correct ones for my mower, but they did not fit, i.e., my mower's axle was bigger than the hole in the wheel. I called and was bounced around for at least 30 minutes. They finally issued an RMA. I followed the instructions on the RMA and returned the wheels. I waited for the credit to show up on my credit card statement: it did not. So, I called and April told me that the wheels had been received, and the credit put on the desk of the person who issued the credits, but that she would put another credit on her desk. The next month's credit card bill came in, but no credit. I sent them an email stating that if the credit wasn't issued I would file a Small Claims Court suit. The next month's credit card bill has now come in, but still no credit. It has now been 3 months since the RMA was issued and no credit. I am on my way to the Small Claims Court to get the necessary forms to file the suit. I should have checked the reviews on this outfit before I ordered.

Ordered parts on 18th September and email was recieved stating order was accepted and asking me to call them in 7 days if order was not recieved. Price included USD 75 for shipping to Europe! Credit card was billed on September 21st. Have repeatedly called them and am constantly asked to hold. Total 'hold' time on phone from Europe now exceeds one hour! Have been told several times that it's shipped but when asked for UPS tracking number or similar am told none exists! This bit seems fantasy to me. Have also emailed and faxed management (if they actually have any) without response. Terrible experience and have now put the matter in the hands of the credit card company. If they have problems or are short of parts then they should simply say so.
If I could put very NEGATIVE I would. I ordered a part in the 50 range. After waiting for 3 weeks for my part,, By the way they had told me it was going to take only 7 days, I just told them I wanted my money back,, and to just give me a refund, at this point they got real hateful. After calling back a week later,, I found out my "refund" was put in the day before and I was going to have to wait 12 to 15 days. So i waited,, Now All they can say is they don't know why it hasn't been refunded,,then click,,So I do have I advanage on my side,, I am an Attorney and about to send some papers their way, Lets see how they like coming to Oklahoma to fight a 600 dollar suit,,over 50 bucks,, however DO NOT ORDER FROM THESE PEOPLE!!!!!!!! Ordered repair parts for my Poulan Pro lawn tractor. They tell you to wait 7 working days to receive parts before you call about your order. After 8 days I called and was told by Stephanie that the order had not yet shipped, and she could not tell me when it would ship. After a short internet search I found the same parts on Amazon for the same price so I called back to cancel my order. After waiting on hold for about 15 minutes, I was told by Stephanie that it was no problem and that my PayPal account would be credited immediately. I asked her again if the credit would be issued right away and she said yes. The next day, after not receiving my PayPal credit, I called back. This time I was on hold for about 25 minutes. Finally my call was taken (Stephanie again). After looking up my order information, she came back and informed me that it takes up to 12 or 15 days before credits can be issued. Now my money will be tied up for over a month if I get it back at all. Fortunately I used PayPal so at least I have an avenue for dispute.Amazon showed my parts in stock and will ship in 1 or 2 days.
UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD ANYONE DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!
Amazon is a great place to find any part you need right down to replacement blades.

Be sure to pay with Paypal. That way, when a month has gone by, they took the money immediately, your parts never arrived, and they don't respond to your emails, you have a quick way to get your money back.

I ordered from this company on the recommendation of an auto parts store as well as that of a friend in the small engine repair industry. I am sorry that I did not come across these reviews prior to order because I could have saved a lot of time and energy. I ordered the parts on October 3rd and they charged my credit card immediately. I received an order confirmation email the next day. I waited seven business days and did not receive my parts. I called and was told they should be arriving within the week. They did not. I called a second time and was told they should be arriving within the week and that I would be emailed a tracking number. I received neither a tracking number nor the parts. I called a third time and was told they were being drop shipped from the manufacturer and I should have them by the end of the week. I did not receive them so I called a fourth time and was told one of the parts was on back order. I’d had enough of the excuses so I told them to cancel my order. I also told them that I will call my bank to ensure the credit card is refunded. Save yourself a lot of time and frustration and order your parts elsewhere!

The experience I have had with this company is similar to the other negative complaints that I have read on this site. I have paid $187.66 USD for an item which I have never received and I have tried to cancel the order and request a refund without success.
I have filed a complaint with the Alabama Attorney General and the Better Business Bureau and have asked my credit card company to investigate the credit standing of this company and I would urge any other defrauded customers to do the same.
In my opinion this company should not be allowed to continue to take advantage of genuine customers and to tarnish the reputation of respectable companies that offer a proper customer support service.

I can not tell you how disappointed I am in this company! I ordered three replacement blades for my Snapper mower (order # XXXX-XXXX-XXXX) of which they were more than willing to take my money within hours of placing the order from my account. I too, received the e-mail stating that my order was placed and would be received in 7 days. I waited 14 days for my order and called to see where my order was. I was told it was on order from the manufacture and it could be another 2 weeks before it would be here. I was told I could cancel my order if I did not like that. I waited another 2 weeks and called again. Told the same thing again. I asked to cancel my order. I was told that it had been done. It has been several days since cancelling my order and my money has still not been refunded. Beware when dealing with this company!

I ordered a part from LandscapePower.com ie Outdoor Distributors on Aug 23, part was supposed to be in stock. After 2 weeks I was told it was back ordered after being on hold for over 20 mins. I e-mailed several times with no response. Every time I called a 20-30 min wait. Finally got the part on Oct 15th. They always put you on hold when called. The call taker was always rude and would put you on hold before telling you anything. Find a good supply of out-door parts not these guys.
I have used this company for parts for the past 6 years. Each time it was excellent so I placed another order. (11 Sept., 2009) WHAT A DISASTER!!! I placed the order. They said it would take 14-21 days. OK I understood that. In less than one week my order arrived. I was tickled pink until I opened the box. All the paperwork was correct - the only problem was - IT WAS NOT MY ORDER!!! I called immediately and they said within a few days my order would arrive. I waited a week and called again. They said it was being looked into and I should have it in a couple of days. Three times they told me it was shipped. After a day I called each time and asked for a tracking number. I never got one because it still has not been shipped. I asked for supervisors. I asked for someone in charge. I asked to talk to the person that was supposed to ship my parts. I asked if they were in my shoes what would they do? I asked what I did wrong? I have been on the phone with them about 4 times each week for the past two weeks. It is now over 5 weeks. What is a person to do? If I tried to operate a business in this fashion I would be out before I got started. I am still waiting. They obviously do not want me as a customer. It sounds like they do not want any more customers. It sounds like you better get your parts or your money pretty quick - OR YOU AIN"T GETTIN NUTHIN.
On August 11th, 2009, I ordered a part for a Yardman mower to ship to Japan. Their homepage said the part was available and allows you to select Japan as a destination for parts. I placed the order. About a week later I got an email saying "Sorry, we don't ship to Japan." At the end of the month, I found that my card had been debited as soon as I placed the order. I have mailed several times without response. Still waiting.
What a terrible company to deal with.
I placed my order with Outdoor Disturbutor on Aug 4, after waiting for 2 weeks, I called about my order. I was told the part would ship, and I would have it in a week. Another week passed, and no part. I called back and Spoke to Lou Lou for the third time she stated that the part was on back order. I told her to cancel my order and refund my card. She told me it would take 4 - 6 weeks. Needless to say I was not happy. I asked to speak to a supervisor, and was told she could get the part from one of their stores and ship it the next day. I told her no thank you I want my refund. She told me she would try to get my refund quicker. Oct 1, no refund! I called again spoke to Christian, he said it slipped through the cracks. He would get it processed. I called back Oct 2, was on hold for 15 mins before someone came back on the line to tell me to continue to hold, I said "NO!" I want to speak to someone now. She put me on hold anyway. I did finally get the issue resolved AFTER 2 MONTHS! I did learn something from all this. If I would have just google the company I would have found this site, and never went through all the hassle.

On September 4, 2009 I ordered a primary drive spring and a headlight for a Craftsman lawn tractor. They charged my card on September 15, 2009, but had not shipped any parts. They have made various excuses as to why nothing has shipped with empty promises the parts would ship soon. I first contacted them after the 7 business days with no shipment and was told one of the parts was back ordered and we should receive the parts in another 5-7 business days. No parts were received after more than 10 business days. Called them again, they still have not shipped the parts so I told them to cancel the order and refund my credit card. I have also contacted my card company and requested a charge back since I have not received what I have ordered and paid for. The card company said they will give Outdoor Distributors 15 days to refund the money or they will do a charge back against them. Apparently these guys do business under the name LandscapePower dot com also, so beware of that website also. With my bad experience I can only recommend to others to stay away from Outdoor distributors and Landscape Power and find another website to purchase lawn tractor parts from. Wish I would have found the advice here at Dave's Garden before I tried to purchase from them.
Despite the warning on the site that "we're swamped" and the assurance in smaller print that many orders are shipped promptly, I placed an order for two small engine parts on 9/6/09.
An e-mail order acknowledgement came that day carrying the admonishment that calling to inquire about the status of my order within seven business days would delay the order.
On 9/14/09, my credit card was charged for the order.
On 9/16/09 I e-mailed Outdoor Distributors' (OD) customer service and asked about the status of my order. I received no response.
On 9/22/09, I called OD's toll-free number and was told that everyone was "at lunch" and to call back in an hour. The time was 1:30 PM CDT at their location.
On 9/23/09, I called OD again at 10:00 AM. After speaking briefly to three people and being put on hold three times, I finally reached someone who told me that one of the two items was on back order and was expected to arrive at their facility in "at least a week". I requested that the order be cancelled and that my credit card be credited back for the amount of the order. After another short hold, I was told that this had been done.
I had been on the phone for about 22 minutes.
