| Positive | johneddy Cos Cob, CT (4 reviews) December 27, 2012 | Excellent selection of plants and seeds. Very pleasant communication and shipping was done carefully.
They seem like folks who love what they do. I just placed a second order with them. |
| Positive | Minime8484 Chandler, AZ (Zone 9b) (16 reviews) December 14, 2012 | All I can say about SS is....WOW!!
Not only was communication fantastic, but the plants they have available are some of the most difficult to find in the world. Add to that the detailed locality/collection data with most of them, and the fact they collect the seed themselves and grow them, they simply cannot be beat.
Prices are a bit more than you find elsewhere, but for the variety, quality, and communication/service, it is well worth it.
I cannot recommend them enough! |
| Positive | loofs Sacramento, CA (3 reviews) May 28, 2012 | Rare seeds from plants mostly from the Andean region though they also have plants and seeds that are native to California (though they have certain plants that are from various continents so just ask them about it). Some of the seeds are much cheaper compared to other sites Ive found them on. Also, the online site lists only part of the catalog (a full catalog cost only $2), the payment method is no different from JL Hudson (in other words mail what you want and the money to pay for it). Overall very nice selection of rare, medicinal and/or edible plants (and seeds). |
| Positive | pcouton Ottawa Canada (3 reviews) April 18, 2012 | Great experience ordering seeds from this company. Their website is also full of very useful and fascinating information. |
| Positive | JLHudson La Honda, CA (12 reviews) May 5, 2007 | I've gotten some of the finest cacti I've ever seen from this firm. I know of nowhere else you can get beautiful endangered cacti that are not only seed grown, but organically-grown, too! Incredible rarities - this guy will spend a half-decade carefully growing a cactus from seed - I don't know how he can bear to part with them! Every plant is a beauty. A world-class talent for growing cacti and succulents. Always a pleasure to deal with these folks. --J.L. Hudson, Seedsman |
| Positive | RichoCech Williams, OR (76 reviews) December 15, 2006 | Everything these folks do is infused with good vibes. They know their cacti, they love their cacti, and they grow their own cacti--the real McCoy. Their catalog is erudite yet accessible--humble, not overstated--you'll see what I mean when you get one. I have a number of pet succulents on my windowsills from these folks, and they are really healthy. They also have seeds from some of the more desired herbal oddities worldwide, and quite a few that you've never heard of--where oh where do they find these things? |
