May 13, 2012 | After reading a recent review here at Dave's, I placed an order with Gardensoyvey. All I can really say is WOW!! The plants I received are fantastic - large roots, great foliage, and extremely generous in size. For example, I ordered Acorus from OyVey and the same plant from another vendor and, although Oy Vey was $4 more, the plant that OYVey sent is at least 20 times larger than the other one (no exageration!) making OyVey by far the better deal. Diane was also very generous with the bonuses (thank you so much, Diane, for your kindness - I really appreciate it!). I am grateful that Diane sent a delivery confirmation as it tipped me off that UPS mis-delivered my package (we finally found it late Friday evening at the bottom of a neighbor's hillside driveway). I followed OyVey's directions and soaked the plants thoroughly prior to potting out and despite the fact that my plants were exposed to the sun all afternoon (due to UPS), the plants have bounced back. I attribute this to the great packaging and the health of the plants at the time of shipping. GardensOyVey is truly one of those 10 star companies which are few and far between. I will definitely order from them again. |

i only ordered one plant, a Cinnamon Fern. i placed the order this week and it's already here, perfectly healthy and happy. the email response was terrific and i really like these two. seems like they go out of their way to please.

April 24, 2012 | Can't say enough nice things about this company! The shipping was fast, and the packaging was so good, you couldn't even tell the plants had been through the mail!! As others have stated, communication was first rate as well. I ordered 2 Little Lime hydrangeas and they were gorgeous--I couldn't believe their size! Very nicely shaped, multi branched, plants with well developed root systems, etc. They made the transition from pot, to ground with no trouble at all. It's nice to do business with people who care so much about what they do and enjoy what they do! |

I was more than pleased with my first order from this company. Based on the great reviews I placed a bigger order than I normally would with a company I had not ordered from before, and I can only say I wished I had ordered more! The order shipped very quickly, I recieved E-mail updates at every step of the process, and the plants arrived in wonderful condition. Everything I ordered was much bigger than I expected for the price, and the root systems were HUGE. The packaging was flawless - not a leaf out of place. To top it all off, I received a bonus hydrangea. I will definitely be ordering again.

I just received my second order from this company, and I am as delighted with the size and condition of everything I bought as I was in the fall. All the plants I received last fall are leafing out and are healthy and thriving. I can't say enough good things about this company. |

September 29, 2011 | I am totally satisfied with my purchase of a Styrax Japonicus. It appears healthy, of substantial size and fullness and with a considerable rootmass contained in a three-gallon pot of rich soil material. A print-out of the planting care was included (the same that is in their website and linked-to in their email correspondence). I had the planting site prepared and simply soaked the plant in its pot for over an hour and a half (the minimum) and then planted it. I'm in Wilmington, NC and we've had alot of rain the past 10 days so the soil was moist; the sun was already blocked by trees in the late autumn afternoon so I felt it was safe to go-ahead and plant the tree in its permanent place without concern for heat-stress. The packing was fine, the UPS guy seemed to know which side was up. I ordered the tree late on a Tuesday, was emailed shortly after and informed that due to shipping time it would be shipped at beginning of following week to prevent sitting in warehouse over the weekend--understood. The correspondence continued at every step, payment, UPS pick-up and tracking number--package arrived as stated on Wed of following week at 2:00. Kudos to Dave's Garden for this incredible site that links you from queries about a specific plant to users with their experiences, to recommended vendors, to rating vendors and their users' comments; and finally to have the best 30 vendors as rated by users--awesome! I had ordered trees just once before, blindly searching for vendors and plants in google--this process now with Dave's has answered my prayers. I will not hesitate to use GardensOyvey again if they have a plant I want and can't find locally. The price of the tree was $48 which might seem a bit high, but I value the effort, knowledge, care etc. of the company to give me my money's worth--and I really wanted this tree!

I have been a container gardener for many years. Finding good plants in Manhattan is challenging. Prices are typically high, plant quality is average, and transportation is not easy.

All I can say is wow! Wonderful people. The best plants. You can’t beat the selection and pricing. Plus, ordering online from their website is super convenient.
My experience has been nothing short of perfect. Great communication. Plants arrive in perfect condition; healthy and incredibly well-packaged. Shipping from TN to NYC was flawless.

I have had some from other mail order facilities squashed down in a box to small. Good root ball to. Not allot of potting soil spilled all over the inside of the box. Plants leaves fresh and green. Very few yellow leaves. Overall very happy with purchase so far. Will purchase from them again. |

July 22, 2010 | There are several clones of the rare Rohdea japonica out there. However, I was immediately attracted to the Rohdea japonica at Gardensoyvey. The plant seemed to have a more upright growth habit instead of the usual squat birdsnest type growth of other Rohdea japonicas. I immeditaely asked Gardensoyvey to send me a Rohdea japonica with the most upright growth. I got an order confirmation and was continually informed about the status of my order. They said that they would send me a great plant--and indeed they did! The plant was quite tall, full, with healthy green growth and strong roots. The plant came right away and was shipped to arrive in perfect condition. On my way out to work this morning, I stopped by my potted up Rohdea just to admire its elegance, and I'm so thankful to gardensoyvey for such a real beauty! I look forward to ordering from Gardensoyvey again, and I highly recommend them. |

July 1, 2010 | I order from a lot of different mail order nurseries and this has certainly been one of the best experiences I've had. I was looking for a specific huercherella to match seven I'd purchased locally before that garden center ran out. I figured with mail order, I'd have to put up with a much smaller plant -- if I could find it at all.
A Google search showed me a number of mailorder nurseries who listed my plant, but most just listed it... they didn't actually carry it! Gardensoyvey had it, though, and at a very reasonable price, so, after checking Garden Watchdog, I placed the order. The communication with Gardensoyvey! was fabulous. They confirmed my order, provided tracking information for shipping, then emailed me to say when the order would arrive and exactly what I should do once it did. In every part of this transaction, they went above and beyond what I expected. And the plants are gorgeous, nice and big and healthy. I will definitely order from them again in the future, because it was such a great experience that I'd like to repeat it, and because it appears they have terrific taste in plants! ;-) |

I have ordered plants from them this Spring and they will do everything in their power to make sure you get them in in the shortest period of time and in top conduction. They make sure that they are pack very will so that there is no damage to your plants.
I will continue to do business with them.
In fact they made me a offer last Fall on the plants that I got this Spring and they keep to their word to the T.
When you contact them they will get back to you the same day. This means that you do not have to worry about anything.
Like some places you will wait for a few days or even a week to hear from them.
I would rate them on a scare from ONE to TEN a TEN being the very best. Believe me I never rate anyone a TEN unless they go above and beyond the call of service.

This is my second season purchasing from Garden Soyvey and I look forward to more. The plants are always healthy when they arrive and I haven't lost one yet! Besides - they are very responsive to any sort of question you might have. I highly recommend them.
On May 11th, 2010, new282 added the following:
I purchased some Heuchera from GardensOyVey just before the rains hit Nashville last weekend (I planted them about 30 minutes before the rain started). After 16" of rain, one lasted about a week; one I think will survive and one has done great. I mentioned this to Wolfgang when I ordered more a few days ago, and they happily sent me a couple of replacements. I had no expectation for that to occur and I am very thankful for them! |

April 27, 2010 | I recently ordered two giant chinese silver grasses through the Gardens Oy Vey website; however, the grasses shipped from Dove Creek Gardens. When I received the grasses I was very surprised by how small they were. Both consisted of a single skinny (skinnier than a pencil) blade of grass about 18" tall. I am hoping that they will survive and grow quickly. As a side note, the plants I received directly from Gardens Oy Vey were much larger than expected and I was extremely pleased. |
