The scoop on 'Shaw's Sunshine Gardens'

I live in Augusta and have purchased Daylilies from Shaw's sereral times. Service and selection are outstanding. Charlie Shaw is VERY helpful and generous with the fan size and bonus plants. The garden is beautiful, many places to sit,, relax and enjoy the view while your plants are being freshly dug up by Charlie. Bottled water was available in the fridge, so you could keep up your energy while walking around picking out plants. My daylilies from last year are big and beautiful and multiplying. I will be returning often as I expand my own garden. I highly recommend Shaw's.

I received my third order from Shaw's Sunshine Gardens today and, as always, I could not be more pleased. Not only do they send strong, healthy plants but they also contact me when the plants are shipped. Another good thing about Shaw's is that I can find many of the older cultivars there -- the really hard to find ones -- as well as the newer ones. And if all this is not enough, let me say that they are just nice people. They make shopping through the internet a pleasure.

I have wanted to order daylilys from the Shaws for two years and finally was able to choose four, with difficulty. I want most of them! The communication was super, I received beautiful, big plants, terrific bonus plants and immediate shipment. Now I need to order some patience until they bloom. Definitely will order again. Highly recommended!!!!

I recently placed my first order with Shaw's Sunshine Gardens. Communication was excellent, shipping was superfast, and the plants were even better than expected - large at least triple fans, all with wonderful root systems. Plus two very nice gift plants were included. I am quite impressed with both the quality of the plants and the service. Shaw's Sunshine Gardens will be one of my favorite sources for daylilies from now on.

Charlie Shaw makes you feel like family! I got hooked on daylilies not because I am a gardener, but because the Shaws are supporters of Southeastern Natural Sciences Academy, an environmental nonprofit that developed and maintains Phinizy Swamp Nature Park. As its PR girl who cares about the environment but spends much of her time in front of a computer screen, I previously had a "brown thumb!"

Mr. Shaw gave me a couple of Bug's Hug daylilies to "try" along with his generous donation to the Academy's fundraisers: the Swamp Stomp 5K and Swamp Soiree. Sure enough, they are arriving every year now with BELLS ON! Beautiful!

I love the color variations!!! I recently purchased "Swashbuckler's Bay Boy" and Mr. Shaw quickly suggested a good contrasting match for my daylily garden. I am looking forward to perusing his Gardens since my "home babies" are blooming with such verve! I doubt I will be able to go home empty handed.

Ordering from Shaw’s was a great experience. Super-fast and very clear communication, quick turnaround and careful labeling and packaging. My daylilies were much larger than expected, and look fresh and happy. I will order all my daylilies from them in the future.

The owners of Shaw's Sunshine Gardens were more than nice and got me my daylily just in time for Mother's Day, even though I ordered it late. I could not find the cultivar Donna's Prayer and they had it. The plants were nice and healthy upon delivery and he even threw in a bonus plant. I would definitely suggest these daylily growers to anyone. My experience in dealing with them was nothing but a positive one.

I never had a love for gardening before going to Charlie's. I love going out at least once a month in the sping and summer to see what's blooming and I always end up coming home with new lillies. I love going out and seeing what is blooming in my yard everyday. I even took out all my shrubs to have a bed of only lillies. I always get my money's worth when visiting Charlie.

I have been a customer of Shaw's Sunshine Gardens for 2 years now and have over 40 daylilies. The view out my back windows is spectacular !! Charlie Shaw is one of the most concerned and caring business men I know - he truly loves his beloved daylilies - growing them, caring for them and most of all sharing them with his customers. I marvel at how he knows the name, the color, the characteristics and the blooming time (and even where they are located in the garden !!) without looking them up on a piece of paper ! He is always generous with the fans I receive and is quick to give advise and growing tips - he never seems to tire from my endless questions. The daylilies I receive are always healthy and reproduce rapidly. I have a wonderful show of color from May to frost. I wouldn't consider buying lilies anywhere else - poor Charlie is stuck with me for life! If you ever get in the area, his daylily farm is a feast for the eyes - I call it "my little piece of heaven" !!

Wow, this garden is incredible! Every aspect of Shaw's Sunshine Garden shows that they have great respect and love for their plants and their customers - I felt as if I were buying from a longtime friend rather than a stranger several states away. I emailed Charlie Shaw regarding the availability of a specific plant, and even though he was on vacation at the time, he responded immediately to my request. I placed my order on a Monday and by Thursday afternoon I had received my order. Inside the box were the largest, healthiest plants I have ever received from anyone! Each plant was individually wrapped and clearly labeled - and an extremely generous bonus plant was included. I will definitely be ordering from this garden again and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for top-quality plants from incredible people. I think you will be amazed at the high level of customer service and the quality of their plants - I know I was!

I bought plants from this business last spring. We were on a water user rotation so I feared my plants were not going to get the type of watering they required. After a few weeks of pampering...the flowers died, or so I thought. Last week, I was out in the yard cutting grass and getting my flower beds ready for planting new flowers and did I get a big surprise. The plants I planted last spring had sprouted and were beautiful and green. They survived and I am expecting to have some great looking flowers soon! I will be purchasing more plants from Shaw this week for my new flower beds. Their plants are superior and so is their customer service.

Shaw's is a local Daylily source for us, very generous with fans, always clean and healthy plants. And excellent customer service.

I highly recommend this company. I have ordered lots of daylilies from many sources and these were among the nicest.The daylilies they sent me were huge 3-4 fan plants with nice root systems. They also sent me two beautiful bonus daylilies. I was also impressed with the fact that they emailed me not only to tell me that they got my order but also when it was mailed and when I could expect to receive it.

I received my shipment earlier this week. Was very pleased with what I received. All were large and at least 3 fans. I would recommend this company.

I purchased only one plant from this vendor and I was very surprised at all of the personal attention I received. I felt like old friends even before I got the plant. It came as a very healthy triple fan and I received two extra plants that were extremely generous.

I just received my first small order of a half dozen plants and I was thrilled with them. The fans were huge and each was individually wrapped in a paper sack. I highly recommend this firm to anyone who really wants quality daylilies.

I'm absolutely speechless! I ordered 5 double fans of MERINGUE MIRAGE. Instead of all double fans Shaw's Sunshine Gardens sent me 4 triple fans AND a four fan clump of it! I checked all over the internet to find an inexpensive source for MERINGUE MIRAGE. They were by far the least expensive. The daylilys were beautiful, healthy, large and green. After three weeks they already started to increase. They sent me a very generous bonus: daylily: ROLLING THUNDER. They are by far the best Daylily Grower I have ever bought from. I'll definitely be ordering from them again in the Spring.
