| Positive | beccalynns Silex, MO (Zone 5b) (1 review) June 02, 2006 | My order from Delafield (Lyndale) took awhile to ship and I emailed them three times to ask for an approximate shipping date but never got a response. They finally shipped in mid-May and sent a tracking number by email and my box arrived. WOW- the plants were HUGE for the prices they sell them at. The quality of the plants and the packaging more than made up for the delay earlier on. They are all in the ground and doing wonderfully. I'll definitely be back!
Becky :) | | Positive | purpleice Bridgman, MI (Zone 5a) (20 reviews) April 26, 2006 | My order was placed in Jan. of this year at Lyndale. Today I received my order from Delafield Gardens, unannounced, with no email or notification of shipment. Eight plants were jam packed into a tiny box with about 15 styrofoam peanuts on top to protect them during shipment. Most of the soil had fallen out of their containers. The plants were broken, dirty and bone dry. While 4 plants may have easily fit into the box they were shipped in, 8 were clearly too many. I have tried to salvage these plants. I immediately added soil, water and new containers and they may survive but it's sad to see live plants shipped in such deplorable condition. I've called them and I'm waiting to hear back from them. On May 3rd, 2006, purpleice changed the rating from negative to positive and added the following:
I received my replacement order today from this nursery and it arrived in great condition. The plants were moist, well packed, unbroken and of good size and quality. I was very pleased and will order from them again. I am very happy with the care they have shown in this matter and their prompt attention. Thank you Lori!
Company representative comment on April 27, 2006:
On Apr 27, 2006 9:54 AM, Delafield Gardens (Lyndale Garden Center) added:Dear Anne,
Thank you very much for your comments and we sincerely apologize for the problems with your order. We have recently begun our spring 2006 shipping and have sent out several e-mails to all of our off-season customers notifying them that their orders would be shipped soon. We have also developed a routine of sending out an e-mail to notify each customer that orders have been shipped along with a tracking number. Perhaps there was a problem that you didn't receive our emails (sometimes people change their address or have block settings that reject our emails, etc.)?
We strive to have competitive prices, quality products, and satisfied customers. We also have a passion and care for the plants themselves, which is why we are in the business! With the number of orders we have been shipping, the "spring fever" rush, and the continued development of our shipping procedures, there were obviously some errors with your order. Per our telephone conversation, we would like to ship you a new order and hope it is to your satisfaction. Thanks again for your business and we hope you enjoy the seaon!
Sincerely,
Delafield Gardens

http://www.DelafieldGardens.com | | Positive | Amberjoy Dayton, MN (1 review) November 08, 2005 | I have shopped at the Lyndale store for many years and am glad to see that I am now able to get their products on-line. I have found that they have been very helpful in answering any questions that I have and always respond to my e-mails very quickly. The plants that I recieved by mail were very healthy and were one of the best deals that I could find, both on-line and in gardening stores. | | Positive | carrielamont Milton, MA (Zone 6a) (19 reviews) November 07, 2005 | This place says they've been local for years and just now is adding an online division. They had almost every perennial I've wanted for $2 each, all shipped bare-root or in pots. The best part [and I asked] is my order, placed in 11/2005, will be shipped in Spring 2006 AND BILLED in 2006 at the 2005 price! Unusual but wonderful policy. I'll report back when all is delivered.
