We have reformulated Deervik to be an improved version of the 2005 formula. It now meets all government standards as well as withstanding high temperatures and rain. We tested it from March to June 2007 with excellent results and now have put it back on the market. We are confident that with Deervik customers will have success in stopping deer from attacking their plants.

| Neutral | pgpaco Kennett Square, PA (1 review) August 27, 2009 | I just called their number. An answering machine, without an outgoing message, beeps, then beeps again maybe 15-30 seconds later.
Maybe the deer seized their office, shut operations down and are seeking a ransom. | | Neutral | plantaholic2 N Middlesex County, MA (Zone 5a) (13 reviews) August 04, 2009 | Is Deervik still available? I went to their website and it is under construction.
I like the old formula better than the new. I don't think the new formula lasts long. i just went to open up an old saved jar of it and it was kinda moldy looking and dried up. The old formula would have lasted forever. Even though it was not as environmentally friendly, it was much more functional. funny how that tradeoff often happens.
| | Positive | tnpcoron Fredericksburg, VA (1 review) July 04, 2009 | lst time use and wanted to make a comment about the success of Deervik. That was a task and I didn't expect to have to sign in. On July 4th, 2009, tnpcoron changed the rating from neutral to positive and added the following:
OK-Now on to my very positive comments about Deervik but not about conquering the voles and moles in my city property... An Aunt in Springfield, Ill., introduced me to Deer vik a few years ago and at the time when we lived on 10 acres of wooded property in the country. She lived in a development at the edge of the city. The deer were eating everything in sight of her very large and formal flower gardens. They would see them traveling in the backyard as they sat in the kitchen eating breakfast. I bought Deervik and it worked for me too. My purchase was right after the company reformulated their product to make EPA happy. That info is assumed by me and my Aunt and did not come from Deervik people.
I belong to a garden club and also work in the gardens at the historical home of Mary Washington with Master Gardeners and have told the "girls" about Deervik. One girl on 3 acres bought a gallon of Deervik just this past month.
There is likely not a week of many conversations with people at garden centers, etc. that DEER does not come up. The answer is always Deervik. Even the lady on 3 acres said "I have tried everything". I said "D E E R V IK!!!!!!! GET SOME." And she obviously did and it works for her too. However for her it is impossible to cover the entire 3 acres of flowers so they do eat some of the plants that they do like. The deer also come right up to her when she is working in the yard. I cautioned her of the male deer in mating season as they can be very dangerous.
I am also thinking that playing a radio in several places in the gardens might help to keep them away at night. Voices would help where Deervik wouldn't have been applied.
regards-Patc in Fredericksburg, Virginia | | Positive | LE_from_MD Silver Spring, MD (1 review) June 19, 2008 | I have had deer eat everything in my yard, even the stuff that they shouldn't like. I've tried everything! I ordered some Deervik early this spring and it is working wonderfully! I just jab a stick in the stuff and put the stick in the ground aroud my garden and bushes. The deer are really staying away from the plants. My azaleas actually bloomed this year and my hostas are getting almost too big for my front flower bed. It is really working. I'm very please with the product and have even let my neighbor use some. They now have roses on their rose bush for the first time in years. | | Positive | scrubs_ff Downers Grove, IL (1 review) June 18, 2008 | Deervik really works. I've been using a spray for a number of years and
it's o.k. but you have to reapply after rain and it's a real bother.
Deervik has been much better and I haven't seen a single deer. | | Neutral | gardadore Saylorsburg, PA (Zone 6a) (15 reviews) April 04, 2007 | I, too, have been wondering about the Deervik Company. It was like a godsend when its product first came out. I still have some left which I am meting out very carefully. A friend of mine also swore by it for his hostas. Last year he ordered a new supply only to have the deer wipe out his hosta. When he sent a complaint with pictures to the company they admitted that they could no longer get one of the ingredients (must have been THE magical one!) and were trying different formulas. They sent him a new batch with even newer ingredients to deter the raccoons from eating it (the Deervik)! That didn't do any better so he gave up (no more hostas to eat, anyway). Therefore I surmise he wasn't the only dissatisfied customer and they still don't have the formula right. It does seem as if the company has vanished off the face of the earth. What a loss to all of us who thought our deer and rabbit problems had been so painlessly solved! Company representative comment on June 18, 2008:
On Jun 18, 2008 12:25 PM, Deervik added:Deervik was reformulated in spring 2007 and we started selling in June 2007. We had "some bumps in the road" in 2006 but now we have a formula we stand behind. It has worked 100 per cent in our test gardens. We have been selling it for over a year now with no complaints, many happy customers and many unhappy deer! | | Positive | BlueHerron Lutherville Timonium, MD (1 review) April 04, 2007 | Where IS Deervik? I've tried to contact them every way; including telepathically. They haven't gone out of business, have they? I have so little left now, I have to decide which plants are "deervik-worthy." Are they just too busy filling orders, that they had to stop taking them? I'm hoping I haven't told too many people about it. | | Positive | Helgina Sawyer, MI (1 review) February 11, 2006 | Well, to put it simply, Deervik saved my gardening life. Coming from Chicago, where there are no deer, to SW Michigan, where there are deer everywhere, I was not anticipating the deer and I loving the same plants and flowers! Discovering Deervik--fabulous! I'm back to being happy in the garden! |
