|I ordered 12 pre-sterilised substrate jars from sporestore.com on January 10th. I have been checking the order status every day and it only says 'Processed'. I have sent them SEVERAL emails asking for an update and response on my order, and they haven't messaged me once. I wish I would have seen these reviews before I spent so much money with them. ALSO, my receipt that I got from their automated email address said that my 12 jars should have been FREE SHIPPING, but I paid $5 for shipping.
Also, UniversityScientific.com is owned by this same company, it says so on this website and I notice that both of the company's address' are from Michigan. I ordered a MycoGarden from UniversityScientific for about $150 including shipping. They are ignoring my emails as well. I am so pissed and as soon as the bank opens tomorrow I am going to file for a chargeback.

|I placed an order and received immediate order confirmation. 3 days later, I received shipping notification with a tracking number. I have been watching the product and am able to see the shipping details without a problem. I contacted them to apologize for the negative reviews I read about and to tell them that I appreciate their service and they responded to me that very same day.
Fast shipping, quick communication, you can't ask for more. This is a great company to deal with and I will again when I need to.
Please watch out for bogus reviews and comments. Some people just have rediculous expectations and then bend the truth. I read one review on this very site where the person posted a comment 9 days after they ordered. Then wrote that they waited 3 weeks before getting worried. How is that possible? The lies make me angry. Then there is someone else that had their "Lawyer licking their chops" after 6 days. Get real...I don't even believe that's a real customer. Probably a competitor or something.
Back to my point: Great company to work with and I'm very happy with the speed and service. Many thanks to them.

Ordered from these ppl and obviously got screwed. No responses in emails. And all phone numbers found are not working. I will give another day or 2 and then be calling my bank. Do not use these guys. Find somewhere else to order from. And I would advise that even if I do get my stuff.

Ok so I ordered a few items from this site and its been 2 weeks and they haven't shipped my order. They sure as hell got paid. When I contacted them, they sent me a generic response saying to please give them a few days to ship. I asked them in my email if something was wrong or are the items I bought out of stock? I got the same lame email saying sorry, please give is a few days. I am so mad. I think I may just say forget about it and ask for a refund. Am I being unreasonable? They have made no effort to contact me about my order. If I hadn't of emailed them about it I probably never would've heard anything. I don't know what to do!!! Help!

As with most other folks who have Ordered "Mycogarden", "Mycojars", and spore syringes from University Scientific, I have had a Horribe experience with these Conartists. I am no expert in Mycology, but know how to do it, and that's why i ordered subtrates and spores from the morons at USC. I got my syringes and one set was all clumped up(spores that is)in the water solution. Shook it to disperse the spores...the other four look like they contain only water, and I have no way to test them. So, without my Jars, and Mycogarden they will just sit in the fridge until i can get up the cash to buy from another supplier. Oh, for sure I'll give them one more week to make this right, and then I'll contact My credit card company and file a dispute to getmy money back....good thing I have fraud protection on my account!!! Cuz that's what this is turning out to be..A FRAUD!
If anybody out there can actually vouch for the guys..let me know. Thanks. Be very careful who you buy from online.

I also got all that I ordered from SporeStore...which as we all know by now is the same Company. All of My spores are viable as viewed under magnification.
Look here's the problem with this...We are not patient enough to wait while they Make our product for us. It all has to be Sterile...and that does not happen all by it's self. |I've been a happy customer of this company for years. It was when I was in college that I found out about their services from my buddies at my fraternity. I know that this company does a ton of business because I order from them often. I can see that a few orders will go wrong every once in a while, do a google search on "ups terrible service" and see how many negative complaints show up in the results. Between my friends and myself, we've literally ordered DOZENS and DOZENS of times from these guys and their products have brought us all a lot of joy. I highly recommend their services.

|I ordered there "MYCOGARDEN" and i feel i got ripped off. First thing i noticed was that all the products and items that are in there video are quality. The stuff they sent me is JUNK, first of all as soon as i put water in the bucket with the underwater heater it LEAKED. Also the underwater heater is GARBAGE it doesnt maintain a certain temp so you have to manually keep it adjusted. So if your going to buy it make sure you add some caulk so it dont leak all over your counter.

|I purchased $29.90 worth of ecologcal supplies from this company for the first time on 6/9/2009 and got the reciept and confirmation of the order and payment in the email I still have same day but after 3 weeks began to be concerned because here on Guam it takes two weeks sometimes for mail order goods to reach our Post Office here on island because all the mail changes planes and is routed through Hawaii regardless of level of priority or regular first class or stamped envelope, it's all the same travel time. I wrote today my third email reponse to the reciept and asked why they do not repond and informed them i would make it a point to put their activities, "thefts' online somewhere where others ripped off by them would surely be and that if the numbers stack up well and they are catchable I believed they wil pay for thei greed and obvous deceptive dealings with the general public by not delivering th products they sell that are paid for in full and are recorded by credit card companies in their billing astatements to the FreeSatelliteFTA.com they advertise as the billing addresss in their email. I will inform the credit card company tomorrow and the bank, but unfortunatly my bank will not offer and follow up on "disputes" for services not rendered as they used to do and halt payment and demand repayments as they used to do, which worked very well! I don't know why they did this and I am dissapointed thy disconyinued a protective service such as that for usa customers. What else can I do to report these guys and try to get my money from them? If there are enough people they have ripped of there should be some legal action forthcoming.

|Ok, so I ordered from them on April 15th and I live in Chicago. I was very suspicious after I ordered because then I started looking at reviews and heard of a lot of bad stuff about the company. I got more scared after 8 days and they had not changed my order status on their site or anything. I posted a message on their site and sent them an e-mail and after 13 days from ordering I saw they changed it to processed. Never responded to the message or the e-mail. It was on processed for about 5 days and then they finally changed it to shipped but didn't send me a tracking number or anything as they said they would. But sure enough I did get my package, horse poo/straw bag and it is almost fully colonized now. I told them I'd write a good review as I've seen so many bad so here it is. Good luck to anyone else.

|Despite what I have read here, the folks at University have always taken good care of me, with the orders coming relatively fast. Their mycojars are hands down the perfect substrate for growing edibles, with 100% results! If it takes a little longer than I may have liked, I always try to remember the preperation involved and the likely volume of orders.
It is unfortunate that some have had a bad experience with them. Hopefully most have been resolved, or will be soon.

|Wow, what a scam! I ordered on 12/15, sent over 6 support tickets, 6 regular emails, and 5 phone calls, after the money was taken out of my account, TWICE for the SAME order. Yes folks, they illegally charged me twice for the same product. My bank fixed everything, and told me "yeah we know about them." My attorney is licking his chops too, to get a class action suit going.
DO NOT order from these scammers. I will own the company in a few months with my lawsuit, and let it die.

I am deciding when to file a claim with my credit card and get my money back. I see that some people did recieve their "stuff" so I am not sure how long I should wait. |I don't care what anyone else says these guys are a total scam and so are their affiliates. I ordered a kit from them and never recieved the package. I constantly tried to call them, but it turns out that the phone number and address is also a scam. This guy will not ship. Thankfully I used a credit card and they got my money back. I waited 2, that's 2 months for the package/ response from them. They sell knock off products of others that are much more reputable, AKA the mycogarden. Their Affiliats are also scam artists. The spores did come but were completly bunk and the one syringe was completly contaminated when it was received. If they don't have good customer service, then they obviously don't care about their customers. I would HIGHLY ADVISE AGAINST THE USE OF THEM OR THEIR AFFILIATES!! The whole thing is a SCAM, 100% Guarantee. Take my word for it. There are better companies out there with better customer service. Give them a call and see what you get before you even think of ordering. Also, use a credit card, if you do order, they are on your side and will get your money back. Any company that states they will ship and it should be there in 10 days and it shows up months later, if at all, IS NOT A GOOD VENDOR. I wanted to make this clear so that others don't get ripped off. You will if you order from them. I have seen some of the other testimonials and though most are negative, which is a good sign that they are indeed a scam company, There are a few good ones that are very misleading. They are most definetly a scam and it's sad that they are a sponsered search. They should be taken to court and held accountable for their scamming practices. |I ordered from this company at http://www.sporestore.com (as everyone else, before finding this site), on March 4th, and they finally shipped my package today, the 19th. The fact that they shipped is the only good thing i can say about them - whether or not the sample is viable is a question waiting to be answered.
Ok, so now the crap end of them, sheisty at best. Their business email address email@example.com has been disabled, the onsite phone number was never in use, and the phone number attached to the credit card statement simply says "leave a message" when you call, (which I did 5 times) and no one ever answers or calls back. These people are absolutely hiding for a reason.
Tthe domains freesatellitefta.com, sporestore.com, sporebank.com, irie.tc, and universityscientific.com are all part of this racket and they are all registered via various anonymizers.
If anyone who got burned for a considerable sum of money wanted to prosecute this, they should go to their local federal court, and file a suit against the company, requesting subpoenas for the registrant AND billing information for all the relevant domain names, and provide the registrar with these subpoenas. Once you have that information, you will be able to subpoena the contacts for the company itself. Yes, thats money spent, but 1) its probably a loser company put to sleep, and 2) you will probably be able to recover court costs.

|Well, in my opinion this company is not a scam. I first started by ordering the musroom grow bag with oyster mushroom spores. I did have good results under dry and dusty conditions. It really keeps out contams great. So next I ordered the mycogarden. I started to worry after reading this site, and getting no response from them for like a month. They finally e-mailed me with a traking number and that was cool. I think it just takes a long time for them to process orderes, and they have poor customer service. But all 'n all, they do a fine job. I would recomend the mushroom grow bags, the fruits are delicious. So, I would order from them again. Dont worry guys, your products will come......at least they did for me.

|ok ok first thing you have to relise is that it's a cheaper version of the mycodome, but thats not to say the product is crap. once you order the mycogarden it auto. takes out money from your account. There is no "help desk" in a since that you wont get any responce from the company at all. After reading the reviews on this site I got scared that I wouldn't even recieve a pacage. After about 2 weeks I sent them an e-ticket from their site asking about my pacage and to this day still haven't gotten a responce. I got fed up and ordered the mycodome hopping to finaly get started growing my mushies. after 3 days I recieved my tracking number for my mycodome, but later that same day I also recieved my tracking number for my mycogarden. They came in 2 days apart from each other. All in all it took 20 days to get my mycogarden. The dome dosent fit verry snug around the bottem piece and is connected with velcro making a seal verry hard to take place. The "fruiting tray" is nothing more then a dixie plate. I had to drill a hole in the top bucket for the temp. probe. I still can't figure out just what the easy casing mix P and E are (no one has info about it). Finaly they forgot to add another piece of tubing leading from the air stone to the air pump. After a 20$ trip to walmart I had everything I needed to get it up to par. But you know what, the mycodome has its flaws also. They didn't send me the right number or substrate jars and the submersible heater runs hella hot. I had to put it on a timer and crank it as low as it could go. My review of the product my sound harsh but all in all it works. Look, you can go to wallmart and buy everything you need to build your own for under 100 bucks but for convience purposes its just a click away. If you buy the mycodome your really just paying for the lid (wich by the way is alot better by comparison) but thats about it. It will grow mushrooms and it should come in but buying from a site that dosen't even respond to its costemers is kinda sketchy. I didn't have any major problems with they mycogarden but I'm hesetent to buy anything else from the site. My advise, the extra money spent for the mycodome is worth the comfort of actually having a support center.

They charged my credit card very fast but there is no answer yet. If i have readed this before, i wouldn't buy anything. How can i get my money back if i dont receive anything? |Ok well I spent about 200 bucks on some of their stuff and I get an email charging my card but that was 2 weeks ago, I was able to call and leave a message last week but now the number doesnt even work!
My sisters husband is in the FBI and I told him about whats going on with this company and about all the people getting scamed, he said he would have somebody look into it if it doesnt get fixed which it wont because this is all a scam!

|I ordered a Windogrow and received it quickly so for that they get a positive. But then it all went downhill quickly. The instructions were for another product. So I had problems with assembly. There is no way to determine which fertilizer is for what or how much to use. It didn't have all of the parts claimed on the web page. It came with a grodan cube (which I am allergic to) instead of rocks. And while it had the ph tester there was nothing to adjust it with. And the pump is LOUD!. Very Loud! I tried finding instructions on the web site -- the info pages are blank or pertain to only one other product. So I put in a trouble ticket 3 days ago -- no response. And the Windogrow does not look like the one on the web page -- the top is a mess, and does not fit. So they get a negative for customer service, and delivery of product as promised. I do not plan to order from them again.

|I ordered the mycogarden nearly three weeks ago and it has yet to arrive. After reading the below comments i think it's safe to say my concerns have been realistic. I was first worried when i recieved my confirmation order with no tracking number.
I tried e-mail but my message was unable to send. And i tried calling about 3 days ago but all i got was an answering machine so I left my message and am still waiting for a return calls. This is a has been a huge bummer and waste of money.
If any of you ther dissapointed customers recieve your order or are able to contact the University Scientific I would like to hear from you with another post.

|I checked out University Scientific Corporation's prices on "laboratory supplies" because I'm always scouting for better prices for the lab where I work. The prices for graduated cylinders and Erlenmeyer flasks were outrageous, and the other prices were merely "very high". If you need laboratory supplies for whatever reason (educational,research, hobby, just because they are cool), I suggest you check prices at several suppliers.

|I know someone who used to work for this company; he used to do customer support. He quit after telling hundereds of customers their refunds would be processed, but the company simply refused to refund them.
Their products are homemade and does not even fit properly. For example their dome for the myco-garden has a 13inch base which is supposed to fit a 12 inch bucket.
Furthermore, most of what they advertize they don't even sell;
like the expensive pressure cookers and the majority of the scientifc gear is there to make them seem "legit".
Their website automattically charges you no matter what item you order, and if it is an item they don't stock you're SOL and no refund.
Their spore shop affiliates (sporebank.com and sporestore.com) are all the same company under the same roof and they DO NOT sell diverse spores. They'll send you a mycellial syringe (I would question the legality of this) of the identical variety. They will label it as the one you ordered.
BUYERS BEWARE, if you've been charged recently, charge back now!

|I attempted to purchase from University Scientific online. They promised to ship my product within 24 hours. That was a week ago. They still haven't sent me a tracking number, and haven't responded to my attempts to contact them.
They have no live customer support. Just a voice mail on their phone number. My emails to the customer service address listed on their site came back undeliverable. Legitimate businesses do not operate like this. I am convinces this is a scam and I will pursue all legal means to get my money back from them.

Earth's Tongue is terrible taking months sometimes but their spores are the best for microscopic study. Generally you can get jars if you need them pretty quick but of course they are pricey. Spores for microscopic study are cheap and keep for a while in the fridge, mulitiple order spores and get or make substrate as you need. Patience is one of the things plants teach us.

|My experience purchasing products from Universityscientific.com has been very positive. I purchased a Mycogarden and three Windowgrow's from them and received my order that same week. I've shopped at many websites online that don't ship out the same week, let alone DELIVER your products to you the same week. I've been extremely happy with the products that I've received. To add to my note, this company was referred to me by a friend as a good place to shop with good products. In my experience this company is great.

|This company appears to have extremely poor customer service. I placed an order on 9/15/06 and was told the item would ship in 24 hours and I would be notified when it shipped. They were quick to take my money and that's it. I have called repeatedly and emailed, they do not respond to customer inquiries.
TO ALL CONSUMERS, TAKE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY ELSEWHERE, THIS COMPANY SEEMS TO BE A FRAUD. DON'T EXPECT THEM TO RETURN PHONE CALLS, EMAILS, OR SHIP YOUR ITEM, BUT I GUARENTEE THAT WILL CHARGE YOUR CREDIT CARD WITHIN MINUTES OF YOU PLACING THE ORDER. A SAD EXCUSE FOR A BUSINESS.

|I ordered a kit for $118 from them and they took the money from my account but I have not recieved any product from them.They do not reply back to me from my mails or there support center and my phone calls..They are criminals i think ..
They steal money from people that work hard and earn it !

|On July 22 we placed an order for a mushroom grow kit at a total cost of $49.50. The amount was withdrawn within one day from our checking account. To date we have not received the kit. We have also been unable to get a response to any of our attempts to contact them (over a two week period), including four posts to their support center, two messages left on their answering machine, and one message faxed. Beware! At this point all we want is a refund of our money!
On September 14th, 2006, jed added the following:
9/14/06 update - To date we have heard nothing and still have not received our package or a refund of our money.
